The Pundits Take: VP Debates War
Business as usual
 


Best moments of the debate included Palin winking, Palin telling Biden that his wife's reward was in heaven (4:15 into the clip), and everyone agreeing on gay rights.

But what did the guys who are paid to analyze the debates think? A pundit round-up, after the jump:

 

• James Carville thought Biden won. Surprise!

• Tom Brokaw thought Palin exceeded expectations, but it ultimately doesn't matter because no one cares about the VPs.

• Keith Olbermann thought it was cool Biden cried, Rachel Maddow thinks that if the table were turned Palin would have never heard the end of it, and Pat Buchanan is a redonculous human being.

• Everyone at Fox thinks Palin won. Surprise! Also, the "focus group" at Fox was Anheuser-Busch sponsored. Which is totes nonpartisan except for the part where Cindy McCain hold $1 million worth of stock in the brand, and her company Hensley & Co., is one of the largest distributors of that beer in the country.

Just…. Seriously? And there's absolutely NO ONE at that network who thought that gave even a faint whiff of impropriety?

Don't get me wrong, because I hate the crypt keeper as much as everyone else reading this… but Cindy isn't the heir to the Anheuser-Busch fortune. She's the heir to a beer/liquor distributor in the Southwest.

No one said she was the heir to the AH beer fortune, what was said is that she owns $1 mill worth of stock in the brand. BUD's mkt cap is 47 BILLION. So, although the whole thing doesn't really pass the sniff test, the distribution is worth far more than her BUD holdings. FYI…
