The executives behind right-wing comedy flick An American Carol, which the Philadelphia Enquirer called "about as not-funny as a comedy can get," are claiming that fraudulent sales practices at movie theaters around America are preventing Carol's box office tallies from reaching the astronomical levels they would otherwise.
Did all the conservatives decide to go batshit insane at the same time?

They should cry, it was the worst movie I have ever seen.
And yet, it still BEAT Bill Maher's "Religulous".
It barely beat "Religulous" in weekend grosses ($3.65 million vs. $3.40 million), and with "American Carol" running in 1,639 theaters compared to 502 for "Religulous," it managed to have a much lower per screen average than the latter (just $2,231 as opposed to $6,792 per showing for "Religulous"). With Maher's film budgeted at just $2.5 million vs. $20 million estimated for "American Carol," the documentary will be a moneymaker, while the latter won't. See boxofficemojo for more stats and facts about them.
