What to Expect If You Ever Do Get to See a 6th Season of Project Runway

"According to press reports, expect guest judges Rebecca Romijn, Eva Longoria and Lindsay Lohan — but don’t expect to see much of regular judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. Sources close to the production say the two only make a handful of appearances, and that Garcia and Kors appear in even fewer episodes together. The show also had to use a stand-in for the real Los Angeles Mood Fabrics. The New York Garment District fabric shop that provides contestants with materials does have a West Coast outpost, but sources said the Los Angeles Mood Fabrics was an hour away from the shoot sites. So the crew filmed some of the scenes at a fake “Mood” storefront at a different shop." [WWD]

Most of us could care less about this train-wreck show, but in terms of show business stupidity, just about no one in the last few months can matched the incredibly high levels of stupidity involving everyone associated with this show regarding how, in just a few months, they have all completely killed this show. STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! Obviously, the boneheaded—yes, boneheaded—producers should have NOT moved the show, someone fell down on handling the resultant bad p.r., and everyone, including the new network, should have realized one basic tenet that applies to about 99 percent of show biz: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The show was not broken, and it should not have been fixed. Now, it's toast, it's done, it's over, and no one cares anymore. Time to pack it up, guys. Judges: You have some clothes to design. That dapper host guy: You have some students to teach, and probably a lifetime of endorsements, other shows and cameos in TV shows and films. Producers: Stick with producing quality dramatic serious movies, which is what you should be doing. NBC, Bravo and Lifetime execus who acted so stupid: Go into a cave and read the histories of quality television executives such as William Paley, Roone Arlidge and maybe one or two others, and try to understand how to run quality networks where you don't ruin shows for no clear reason. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
