Black Friday indeed: A worker at a Long Island Wal-Mart died today after being trampled to death during a post-Thanksgiving stampede.
The Black Friday stampede plunged the Valley Stream outlet into chaos, knocking several employees to the ground and sending others scurrying atop vending machines to avoid the horde.
When the madness ended, 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour was dead and four shoppers, including a woman eight months pregnant, were injured.

Reason number 897 why black friday is stupid.
What a shame. This should be abolished. No more 5AM openings, no more lines around the block. People behave like savages.
Anyone who shops at Wal-mart should have their head examined anyway. Every Black Friday there is always a story about how some White Trash Mom beat the crap out of someone b/c they felt they deserved the flat screen TV more than the other person did, a few years ago it was in Michigan. This never happens at Target or Best Buy!
Why on earth is a woman who is eight months pregnant out shopping at 5 a.m. at a Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving? What on earth? Where is her husband, parents, family and friends? Anyone who is eight months pregnant should be resting comfortably in bed, savoring a slow, easy, luxury morning on the day after Thanksgiving–NOT in some stupid stampede at some stupid store along with hundreds of other stupid people. Someone please talk with this woman's family and friends–today.
