Michael Wolff is throwing himself a rad book party for The Man Who Owns the News. The only problem? It coincided with the birthday celebration of one Wendi Deng Murdoch, the news giant's third and current wife. So Wolff's party was pushed back a day, Wendi gets to have her lavish 6-figure gala that they rented out the top floor of the Gramercy Park Hotel for, and a snubbed party planner leaked some details.

Guests for Wendi's party include Barry Diller, Arianna Huffington, and fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman, which is already more people than the combined audience of Australia.

Is that Wendi in the picture? She's hot. Why would the Murdochs be throwing any type of expensive party in the current journalism environment? That's just crass, amateurish, offensive, low, disrespectful–and dumb, on all counts and on all levels. You simply do not throw a crazy expensive party for your birthday when very real journalists are being "bought out," cut, fired, dismissed and given early retirement. If anything, you should be using that money for any stupid birthday party for your own journalists–six figures could fund a couple of hard-working journalists for a year or two, you know. Spend your money on your journalists–not on birthday parties. Unbelievable.
