So How's CNN's New Wire Service Doing?
It's not AP, that's for sure

There's been a mass case of Fuckititis over CNN's unveiling of its wire service, trumpeted as the new Associated Press rival as little as a week ago. CNN, the network with all dat money (but which is still letting employees go, because it's fun to jump on the bandwagon during a recession) is so far unable to keep up with the cache of content that AP covers on a daily basis. And its service "will offer less than 30 national, business, and foreign news stories daily."

Why such a small amount of biteable news? "CNN’s argument is that papers only want 'the best of the best' stories anyway." And in the entirety of the world, that only leaves about 4.2 stories per continent per day. So what are the other 2,970 writers on staff going to tap away about?
