A Vanity Fair Luncheon to Remember
Your afternoon aperitif

What? Just because Conde Nast canceled their annual Four Seasons Christmas brunch due to the bad publicity of holding an excessive soiree during an economic crisis, doesn't mean that the individual magazines that make up the media conglomerate can't each attend private bashes and end up taking over the party themselves. It's called party planning on a budget, people.

Which brings us to Four Season's 50th anniversary bash, in Midtown, well-attended except for a pesky little no-show named Graydon Carter (also known as the editor-in-chief of VF), who called in sick with the flu.

So what did the Vanity Fair party photos end up look like?

Photographer Todd Eberle, trying to prevent the image from looking like a yearbook photo, said at one point, "No one would mind sitting on the floor, would they?" No one answered. No one moved.

Eberle later suggested Blackstone Group billionaire Stephen Schwarzman switch his centrally located seat with food and restaurant critic Gael Greene, who was off on the left. Schwarzman didn't budge.

Well, nice to see the petty power plays are still in effect while these New York elites still have money in the bank. Except for Gael Greene of course, who was just fired from New York Magazine.
