Listen, we usually avoid trying to get into the mind-melding stupidity that is The Hills, but since Speidi finally tied the knot in Mexico for a totally non-binding marriage, and LC might make up with Heidi (which means this show can end now, right?) we might as well take a look-see into what all the fuss we've avoided for the last several months is about. Spencer is going to tear Heidi's mother's heart in twain by actually marrying her daughter in a legally binding court house arrangement. How romantic. Almost as romantic as proposing/coercing your girlfriend to marry you by pouring Patrón down her throat.

The only problem? AP has already sussed out that the "judge" presiding over the ceremony was an actor, the "court house" was a set, and basically none of this has ever happened.

You're welcome, Mrs. Montag. Your daughter is safe. FOR NOW!

I guess exploiting yourself is better than someone else exploiting you through reality tv producing. But is it any more interesting or entertaining than scripted shows. I guess if the audience connects with the reality tv stars, there is more commitment than with characters on new tv shows.
