Because Spitzer's anti-prostitution intitiatvies, coupled by his deep love of a hooker with a heart of gold wasn't enough for New York City in 2008. No, we needed to squeeze in one more hypocritical son of a bitch to show the rest of the world who Aaron Eckhart's Two Face character from The Dark Knight was really based off of.

Enter Queens Councilman Hiram Monserrate:

Officials said that Mr. Monserrate, 41, had taken his girlfriend, Karla Giraldo, 30, to Long Island Jewish Medical Center with what appeared to be a serious injury in or around her left eye.

Ms. Giraldo told hospital staff members that it was Mr. Monserrate who had assaulted her, officials said. It appeared that she had been punched and slashed in or around her left eye with a shard of glass, and officials said it took 20 to 40 stitches to close the wound.

Oh, some battery charges? Sure, guess that's worse than enjoying a high class escort once in awhile. Especially since Monserrate just spent $100,000 in grants to combat domestic battery in Queens. Ah, the irony.

Unfortunately, we don't even want to imagine what comes next. A mayor who says he's against murder but secretly has a closet of body parts in his home? Not that we're implying anything here, Mr. Bloomberg.
