Time Warner and Viacom Kiss and Make Up

Those threats that Viacom was making to Time Warner about pulling some of their biggest stations (MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon) from the cable provider if they didn't receive more residuals? Not going to happen, thanks to a last hour arrangement by the two companies.

But would it have really been so bad to have had a Viacom blackout?

Cons: Without Viacom, big ticket shows like The Colbert Report and Spongebob Squarepants would have gone off the air.

Pro: Without Viacom, there would be no more Hills, The City, or Real World: Brooklyn. Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad, Spender Pratt, and Heidi Montag would all be out of a job.

Tough decision, but ultimately glad that Viacom and Time Warner came to an agreement. It would have been really sad to have LC and Audrina unemployed and passive-aggressively fighting on the streets of LA for anyone who threw them a couple bucks.

I used to work for Time Warner at Columbus Circle. There is absolutely nothing that Time Warner does not own or have ambitions of owning. I worked in the leagal department working on copy rights. They will sue you for $3 dollars if it means they will win
