The fact that Brad Pitt made it out of the whole Team Aniston/Jolie scenario with no less public love than before speaks to a great gender unfairness about how our culture views fidelity. But no matter: Four years after the fact, and someone finally got Brad Pitt to address the issue of his current life-partner's comments that they fell in love during the taping of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, when he was stilled married to Jennifer, and which started a whole second round of controversy. Here's what Brad had to say
On the rumors of Brad and Angelina's on-set love affair:
"What people don't understand is that we filmed [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn't mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn't. I'm very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. It will, that's all."
On Jen's "uncool" comment:
"Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there's a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It's so created…"We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don't see how there cannot be [that]. That's life, man. That's life."
Conclusion: Brad Pitt just opened up a whole can of worms as celebrity historians go back and check the 2005 time line to find the exact date when Brad and Jen separated and Angelina moved it. Also Brad Pitt talks like a hippie.

But Pitt's a nice guy and Aniston wanted her career to be just so - ready for lift-off, before she gave her cash movie cow his walking papers. The fact that it never did, kinda contributes to her current state of wacky misdirected bitterness. After seeing the narcissistic dullard Aniston assault me from magazines for the last decade, and having seen her talents displayed in all their 'Along Came Polly,' glory it's not such a great leap to think that maybe, just maybe, she and Pitt just might not have been destined for long-term anyway. With him saying we're not cut out for the long term, her saying he wasn't the love of her life (all pre-Jolie) - not such a stretch.
Dear #3. The last time Angelina said boo, about Aniston was in her Vogue interview two years ago - when at the last, her interviewer asked if they had ever met. Since then, that's exactly what she does say, 'No comment.' As a matter of fact, both Pitt and Jolie said nada for a whole year, even as Aniston whined her way thru her Vanity Fair 'tell all,' that tried to smear them both. Almost a year later - they each addressed how they got together, once, in their next print interviews promoting films that came out in 2007. They haven't said boo about the bitch since. This is Brad's second time responding to her whining. Aniston however has not shut up since 2005 — starting with her opening salvo, the Vanity Fair whinefest, 2 Oprah slumber parties, and 5-6 women's magazines all alluding to her struggle to survive (so hard when you're a young 100 millionaire and your 4 year childless union goes bust). Why doesn't reese W. get this kind of grief - oh, excuse me, she's a grown-up, I forgot. Anyway - please don't lump Brad, and especially Jolie into Aniston's second career as 'scorned woman.'
