"NBC Universal Shuts Down Olbermann Watch YouTube Channel" reads the inflammatory title on MSNBC's conservative watchdog group Olbermann Watch. The site owners claim grand conspiracy wherein Phil Griffin and Keith Olbermann plotted to take down their biggest opponents: namely, some guys who post clips of Countdown on the Internet and make fun of them. Except, NBC Universal has a stingy habit of removing any content on YouTube that features clips from their shows. Which is sort of the whole point of them creating Hulu? So it wasn't really the Thought/Internet police coming to crack down on naysayers, it was more like NBC and Viacom doing what they've been doing all along: removing videos that bear their copyright.

I don't see any such claim - and I wrote the post.
Otherwise, you might have a point here except:
1) You apparently do not understand how copyright law works, read the section on "fair use" where you mind find our use of video from MSNBC (or elsewhere) to report and comment on Keith Olbermann and Countdown is addressed.
2) From what Google has provided so far, NBC Universal filed a singly, highly debatable complaint about one video (out of over 100) and yet based on this Google took down the entire channel with hours of emailing the complaint (hardly enough to time to respond let alone review EVERY video we uploaed over the past couple of years)
3) There are well over 10,000 "Olbermann" videos in YouTube right now - and some of them have been up there for years. Google, of course, has an obligation under DMCA to take down any allegedly infringinging material so they are operating correctly here. But if Google had been asked to remove ALL videos of Keith Olbermann on MSNBC (or elsewhere) presumably Google would have done exactly what they did with Olbermann Watch. That this has not happened would suggest that the request from NBC Universal was selective.
You may not think so but I do not find it difficult to imagine that the reason for the "selection" of Olbermann Watch might have had something to do with our site being critical of Olbermann and MSNBC especially when the Olbermann fan channels have been left untouched.
One last note, where is the MSNBC content in Hulu? As far I can tell, Countdown with Keith Olbermann is not an offering within the Hulu service nor are any of their regular lineup shows like Hardball or Rachel Maddow.
