Harvey Levin Launching TMZ Spin-Off
 

Harvey Levin's television offshoot of TMZ.com was never after critical acclaim, but it was after audience numbers. And yet ever since launching in September 2007, Nielsen's report card hasn't exactly been enthusiastic. But like a kid who gets straight Bs, it's good enough. Which explains why Jossip is hearing Levin is about to spin-off TMZ — or create a "companion show" — within the year.

Levin has been meeting with Fox Television about the new show, we're told, sitting down with execs in New York over the past few weeks to develop ideas. And given that the original TMZ was renewed last month thru 2010, maybe gossip isn't dead? Oh right, yes it is. There's just nothing new to replace it yet.

TMZ.com, however, remains in trouble. As Jossip first reported, traffic and revenues remain down, along with quality and content — and most everyone blames Levin being overly focused on TV while ignoring the website.

Sri…here in OZ we only see Harvey Levin on Judge Judy…not very impressed.

I saw him with his longtime boyfriend Andy Mauer at the paparazzi-infested Malibu Country Mart this last weekend. Harvey and his lover were trying to dodge the paps! Looks like he can dish it out, but he can't take it.

harvey levin is like an old jewish granny. Watch him on the intro to his show when he just gets giddy talking w/his sad flaky posse who ambush celebrities as they are just trying to live their lives. What a sad commentary for someone w/an education…. I don't watch the show but sometimes I can't get to the tv soon enough to change the channel. He's a pathetic slimeball. eeeeeeuck!

I think TMZ is encouraging illegal conflicts with celebrities just to get shots. The show sucks and is barely watchable for ADD people.

Have noticed Harvey is the first to get the court documents…no matter where the courts are located. So it would appear he knows what he's doing.

Also, he's been covering trials for a long time, in addition to formerly practicing law himself.

Also, Harvey appears to be enjoying his life. Perhaps that's the real reason some find him annoying.

I love Harvey Levin on TMZ TV. His great personality makes the show great. His comments and expressions are missed, when he takes off. I think he could make any show a hit.
