Theres that old refrain again, if you don't support Obama or if you don't believe that he is Jesus or Moses…then your a racist.

It is funny when people use the Jesus or Moses references. No one thinks Obama is Jesus but he inspires a lot of us to strive to be better people and to work hard on improving our country in a difficult time. He inspires us and people want to be hopeful and hear solutions not just hear cynicism, fear,and negativity.Being a hopeful nation is what makes us great and if our forefathers were cynical not idealistic none of us would be here. So why don't you take all that energy you are expending grumbling about Obama and DO something to make this country better.Be a patriot not just a cynic because the past 8 years has shown us negativity and cynicism hurt not help America.

Inspiration is a great thing, heroes are to be admired and aspired to. But blind cult worship is unnerving! To think that people are wanting to now "love America" and say "being Americans is now cool" is a slap in the face to most of us who've always felt that way. I don't need a new and different President to make me want to be a better person. That comes from within and from God (for those of us who are believers). Not all of us let the last "8 years" keep us from being positive, from moving forward, from growing,from doing volunteer work, from loving our country…..All that rhetoric we're hearing now to me is a big load of crap! It was nothing more than an excuse to be angry, ugly and demeaning. What's going to happen in 2012 if he doesn't win again? That would be your real test. Barack has talked a lot about hope and change. Have you ever noticed he really never explained what the hope and change would be? No, he's smart. He said himself that he was a blank slate that people projected upon. So, now, everyone has projected his/her own hopes upon him. The "far" left is now disappointed in him. Why? Because of his choice in Rick Warren. Because he has picked a centrist Cabinet. How did this happen? They, collectively, projected his call for change as their change. But, he made that call to everyone. Interesting what's going to happen now. You should take a step back, think carefully and judge him on his actions not his words, let the euphoria go by the wayside. If so, you'll be much happier and a much more sane person.

One more thing………Elisabeth H. only makes sense for the first time ever? oh, of course, only because she's defending the Obama's. Give credit where credit is due. Not all conservatives are raging Satanical idiots. Please, if you'd like to make this site more relevant take some of your Messiah's advice and reach out, talk less, listen more. All that said, if she'd lower her voice an octave or two and slow down for God's sake I think we'd all be more likely to give her a break.

What you are saying simply is not true for one I have ALWAYS been proud of being an American and our President has from the beginning had a very definite point of view that people responded to.It is not a cult it is Americans who were looking for more from their leaders and found someone they think can offer that.We are weary after a President who lied to us, bankrupt us, and tried to chip away at everything that makes America great. We have always had a moral authority in the world and under him we began to lose that. A great example of President Obama's platform and one he touched on in his address is that our ideals as Americans will not be modified because of fear. This last administration used fear to chip away at our civil liberties. What makes America great is that we are governed by a constitution that puts freedom and justice above revenge and retribution that is why we have always been a beacon of hope in this world. So an administration that excuses torture, that circumvents a legal trial by jailing people in other countries, that excuses unconstitutional behavior to supposedly keep us safe THAT is un-American. Our new President has begun the process to close Guantanamo and we will judge these terrorist by our just standards not emulate them with torture and inhumantiy. We as a country are better than that.If you don't know what his plans are you are not listening and can't read. Go to our new Presidents website and there are detailed explanations of exactly what will be happening.If you read the newspaper you would see in his first few DAYS he has made swift decisive moves.Our new President is committed to non-partisanism and has shown that already by appointing democrats and republicans.I feel sorry for you people being hopeful and ready to push up their sleeves and work to make this country better is so hard for you to understand. His actions in his first two days are more just moral and American than anything Bush ever did. Put your money where your mouth is so to speak instead of sitting on your can grousing why don't you pick an organization and volunteer like Obama said we are entering into an era of responsibilty and hard work.So don't tell me to step back why don't you STEP UP and do something to improve things. All I hear from anti-Obama people is cynicism and apathy. Be better. The 6th amendment says people in this country have a right to a fair trial.Had they legally arrested this guy and done an investigation they would have been able to try him and would not have had to let him go. Scooping people off the street and holding them for years with no charge and no trial is unconstitutional, fascist and actually makes it HARDER to lock these people up FOREVER. Had they done it legally that guy would have spent the rest of his life in prison. You haven't heard white people "claim" Prince, Lisa Bonet, Alicia Keys, or Etta James because there is no reason to; if someone is 50% one race and 50% another, logic tells us that this person is both. But I think it's fairly obvious to nearly anyone that Obama is where he is today primarily because he is (half-)black. By the way, rebarae is an example of a typical liberal (someone who spends a great deal of time and effort to be a nuisance to those who speak the truth).

Also, with regard to Obama'a recent crack with reference to the handicapped, I do think he inspires us to strive to be better people (that is, better than him).
