Call it biting the hand that feeds you: David Gregory, once of MSNBC fame, has now taken his role on Meet the Press a little too seriously. As in, he suddenly considers himself an objective reporter as opposed to say, Rachel Maddow.
We have opinionated people on MSNBC in that role in primetime. I don't think that is a systemic point of view. NBC News as an organization is not influenced by those passionate, opinionated people that we have on the air. Generally speaking people try to ascribe motives to particularly the political press. They reach these judgments through their own ideological prism. We're doing what we need to do.
David Gregory, what? If NBC News wasn't affected by the "passionate, opinionated" people of MSNBC, then you would have never scored the lucrative job as host of an NBC show, because the only reason you stand out from the crowd is you're the least crazypants of the Olbermann-Matthews-Mitchell crowd. Or have you forgotten already where you came from? We know they should have hired that handsome Chuck Todd.

David Gregory is giving a better account of himself on Meet the Press than I would have guessed given the crowd with which he hangs.
David Gregory is doing a fair job as a replacement to Tim Russert. Everyone knows he's a liberal, but aren't they all? At least he makes some effort to go after the other side not like those aforementioned "crazypants" folks over at MSLSD. They're completely nuts and out of control. I think Chris Wallace would've been a fine choice but as he comes from FOX everyone would slam him as a George Bush loving conservative. He's not though. He's a true journalist/newsperson. He blasts both sides.
Chuck Todd shines his left leaning ways occassionally but he is likeable enough. Too many "having an affair with the producer at NBC" stories about him right now. Sticky situation for sure.
Agree with Fano and Delilah, especially Delilah on Wallace. Actually, all the regular newsacast on cable (MSDNC/FOX/CNN) are pretty straightforward. It's when the O'Reillys, Olbermanns, et.al. get going, time to look for the remote. Gregory used to be more of a jerk than he is now, as in an early-term press conference W had with Chirac. Just because they were in France and the place was filled with international reporters, Gregory thought it was appropriate to ask Chirac a question IN FRENCH. Like all of his NBC audience was that upper crust. Bush stopped the proceedings and justafiably took him apart for his arrogance.

The rumor mill is talking about a female producer of a highly rated morning news show that recently had to replace it's hugely admired "star" (due to his early, unexpected demise) with another younger ambitious person…………..she is having an affair and subsequently leaving her husband for……the person who did NOT get the job and lost out to this highly ambtious younger person for the position.
