Google, Unearthed

googlesea02

Since they've basically taken Google Earth as far as it can go without killing any unlucky animals, the geniuses behind the world-dominating Internet company are going to take the net to a place where no troll has gone before…to the bottom of the Ocean.

At a high-profile event in San Francisco, Google is expected to announce the addition of vast amounts of underwater imagery and seabed maps to the Google Earth project.

The move will take Google Earth closer to its aim of creating a complete digital representation of the planet.

You know, if some scientist in a James Bond film was trying to "complete a digital representation of the planet" discreetly, you know he'd be considered evil. But since Al Gore is involved…well then, carry on!
