The Sealed Envelope Shuffling Between Nadya Suleman and NBC

todaysuleman

We heard NBC paid Nadya Suleman $300,000 to sit down with Ann Curry for her Today show interview. NBC says it paid nothing. Who do you believe?

"We did not pay Nadya Suleman, or anyone who represents her, for our interview," NBC News SVP of communications Allison Gollust said in a statement. "We didn't license a single photo or video from her, or anyone who represents her. Not a dime. I cannot be more clear about this. There is no deal with anyone at NBC Universal — not at NBC News, not at Bravo. No one."

But that's not what everyone else has been hearing. The pay-off has been said to be as high as $1.2 million, which is what Suleman's "people" originally were after. Oprah, ABC, and CBS bailed when that demand was made. Clearly, NBC didn't. And they might've got exactly what they paid for: "Everything was filmed. The birth, everything," a Page Six source says.

Whenever a senior flack gets so clearly bent out of shape over something like this, you tend to want to believe her. But then there's this little problem: NBC publicists, and their MSNBC counterparts, lie all the time. They've lied to us. They've lied to other media blogs and reporters. Regularly. So even on the off chance our source was wrong, and NBC didn't open up its wallet, 30 Rock has zero credibility when it comes to going on record with these matters. (Good Morning America, meanwhile, is still charged with an under-the-table payment to Nadya's grandmother.)

And it will be very bad if Ms. Suleman is, at one point in the future, called to testify about her finances when somebody complains a little too loudly about taxpayers having to foot the bill for her eight new children, and identifies NBC as her sugardaddy. In the meantime, she's asking you to be her sugardaddy.

Octo-bitch has a publicist already.

Are we to believe that her PR flack is working pro-bono?

Or are times so tough that PR firms are now excepting food stamps?

THE ONLY THING THIS MOTHER DID WRONG WAS APPEARING FOR THIS INTERVIEW. IF THE INTERVIEWER GETS PAID…WHY CAN'T THIS WOMAN WITH ALL THESE KIDS? NOTHING FROM NOTHING LEAVES NOTHING. THIS WOMAN HAS SOMETHING AND YOU ALL WANT TO BE WITH HER.

Nothing from nothing? YOu are deluded. You cant go into a pregnancy with NO MONEY or home of your own, hoping that someone will offer you money. If they didnt, how is she supposed to take care of the 14 kids??? That just the most idiotic thing Ive ever heard.

@redsongia: I agree, she is simply a mentally unstable person seeking attention.

I have no doubt that she is hoping that TLC, which has several television series currently on air about couples who have irresponsibly had too many children they could care for. I bet she is hoping to become a celebrity too for her "mass production" of children that we taxpayers are footing the expenses.

All of those children should be removed from her home until she is able to support them on her own.
