Like High School Musical, But with AIDS

Some parents are angry that RENT: School Edition will be performed in high school's across America come this Spring. The adaptation is supposedly a toned-down version, but we still can't see mom and dad in Missoula being too happy to see their closeted son play a cross-dressing, HIV-positive Angel. My only question: Where was this frickin' thing when RENT was still relevant, back when I was in high school and begging the drama teacher to let us put on a production? Are there still people out there who find RENT super provocative?

There were lots of HIV positive cross dressers in my high school back home in Missoula. Whats the big deal?

I saw Rent on Broadway about 5 years ago. I was all excited, having heard so much about this modern, fresh musical. The music was ok and the performances were pretty good. The reason it's not relevant? Cause most people, sick or not, when they can't pay the rent have to GET A JOB. DUH! Besides, high school is obsolete. Just drop out and get a GED. You can still cross dress for the test.
