ScrotumGate Scapegoat Fired

myword21

Ugh, this is getting ridiculous. John Sanders, the creator of that doctored "blue scrotum" video that lasted about two minutes on Huffington Post before everyone realized it was a fake, was fired from his job as a reporter in Baltimore for an NBC affiliate. Here is why this is stupid:

• Sanders did not put that video on Huffington Post, nor did he direct anyone other than his friends to his "hilarious" dubbed YouTube vid.

• John Gibson is calling for everyone's head for this, even though the original source of this video becoming viral was TVNewser, with whom Gibson remained chummy enough with to give an interview to after the fact.

John Gibson is the worst. His stupid martyr shtick is especially ridiculous because no one knew he was enough to have a personal vendetta against him. Sorry dude, you are not Bill O'Reilly. People just thought the phrase "bright blue scrotum" was funny.

So what do you guys think? Should Sanders and Huffington Post be held responsible for creating and picking this up as a viral video? Should Sanders lose his job for putting the doctored clip on YouTube if he had no intent on distributing it?

At the most, suspended because in his line of work he should have known that there was a possibility of this getting out. Definitely not fired though.

If Jossip would make half an attempt to stay informed they would know that Gibson said he did not blame Sanders, just Huffington who he felt too eager to run with such a thing.
