Producers Keep Pestering Piven

SAG Awards Arrivals

With their arbitration having gone nowhere, Speed-the-Plow's producers are continuing their quest to bring down blood toxic Jeremy Piven.

"We will be filing for arbitration as provided by our contract," say producers, though they haven't said when, exactly, they'll be filing. Throwing the ball back in Piven's court, his rep says, "If they do so, we are confident that the producers will not prevail in arbitration, just as they did not prevail in the grievance proceeding they initiated." Which is a beautiful way of spinning the other side of the news: Piven didn't exactly prevail in the grievance proceeding, either.

If nothing else, one thing is clear: Piven's Broadway career is all but dead for the better part of a decade. And if he does manage to bend a willing producer to get stunt cast in another show, the cost of bonding the guy will triple.
