The Five Articles We Didn't Publish: Watermelons are the New Dead Monkeys

600plow
A lot of emotions ran high this week, be they the faint wafting of Obama-monkey residuals or Jeremy Piven's crocodile tears. Here, we've pulled five of our favorite, non-publishable, emo items from the dredges of the bad idea pile and give them the proper attention they deserve.

Hey kids! You like hip-hop and wearing baggie jeans that don't cover your butt? The GOP can relate! See, even though Barack Obama might name-drop Lil Wayne and have Jay-Z watching his back, the Republican party is starting its own brand of marketing outreach to "urban and suburban" communities. It will be off da hiz-hook how much bling you will acquire when you join this group traditionally composed of aging white cronies!

In case you weren't up to date on this week's veiled racial slur against Barack Obama.

Have you ever bothered reading this stuff? It's like some brilliant haiku shit. From the article about Colbert challenging Steele to a rap-off:

No. 2 · getreal:
The white man is the one who is whiter.

No. 3 · A Noun:
He was our invisible Lt. Governor for far too long. Trust me - Steele is so white he glows in the dark.

No. 4 · getreal:
@A Noun: No he is black. Explain why this black man is white?

Another 20 Articles About Those Poor Mumbai Kids From Slumdog Millionaire

You're all sick of hearing about it? Boo-fucking-hoo.

If the Oscar excitement brought a sheen of glamour to the community, it vanished Monday shortly after the final award was announced.

The journalists left, the dancing stopped and life pressed on as always. The sweatshop men hunched over humming sewing machines. Squatting children relieved themselves by the train tracks. Mothers washed their dishes in murky water.

"I am poor," Fakrunissa Sheikh, 40, said inside her lean-to next to Azhar's.

About 65 million Indians — roughly a quarter of the urban population — live in slums, according to government surveys. Health care is often nonexistent, child labor is rampant and inescapable poverty forms the backdrop of everyday life.

God, it's sooo annoying whenever light is shed on Third World countries' inescapable poverty by the fluke accident of a movie that just won eight Academy Awards using that particular country as a backdrop. Whaaaa.

David, the Watermelon field White House is clearly racist and stupid.

I agree that the New York Post cartoon was not racist, but that watermelon e-mail is. I don't really understand why you are so consumed with what people find offensive. Why do you care so much whether or not something racially tinged offends a group of people? You probably need to get over that.

Boo-fucking-hoo indeed…

Got to love that free trade baby!!!

It not only does it rises the US unemployment it exploits third world county's workers. Because getting pennies a day is so GREAT!!! God forbid that the trade agreements forces the counties that wish to participate to, you know take care of it's people!!! By oh I don't know like, regulating hours and forcing the corporations to pay a living wage… You know good things that in the end it becomes so difficult to do business in backwater shit-holes that the corporations have to do something positive besides gut the poor world wide.

I THOUGHT THAT JOSSIP WAS FOR SALE AND THEY WERE DESPERATELY TRYING TO FIND THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

THEN WHY IN THE HELL IS JOSSIP SO OBSESSED WITH OFFENDING EVERYONE WHO READS JOSSIP BY PUBLISHING ARTICLE AFTER ARTICLE ON THE STUPID MONKEY CARTOON AND NOW SWITCHING GEARS TO THE WATERMELON CARTOON.

I KNEW YOU GUYS WERE IDIOTS BUT NOW I KNOW YOU ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS: YOU ARE STILL PUSHING YOUR COMPLETELY WRONG PERSPECTIVE ON THE STUPID MONKEY CARTOON AFTER EVERYONE ELSE HAS DROPPED IT.

THIS MUST BE AN EFFORT BY THE EDITORS OF JOSSIP TO SUBTERFUGE ANY POSSIBLE SALE OF THE SITE

@Halli:

this was my point exactly. while it was debatable whether the chimp cartoon was intended to portray obama….jossip seemed hellbent on convincing everyone it did not and has made matters worse by bombarding us with one post after another on the subject

most blogs had a single post on the chimp cartoon

jossip appears obsessed by it

i think it might be an attempt to drum up hits on the site so prospective buyers will think it is worth something which it is not

Funny how stupid people get so worked up over a cartoon. Wernt Americans riled up about Muslims ranting about the cartoon which showed them being bombers.

Let you fucking balls drop men and stop being so gay, and women, stop being so damn emotional and trying to save the world one oprah show at a time.

Great cartoon, no worst than the BOON DOCK on comedy central that takes jabs at white people, or and other black comic. WHite people need to stop being such kiss asses. booo hoo.

Why dont you grab your balls and protest DL Hughly and his NON funny ass. You afraid of loosing your Sympathy card?

@fanofgrendel:

When Jossip started posting its poorly worded, shallow, pointless articles on the chimp cartoon every single person who posted a response felt the same way I did.

May I remind you Rupert Murdoch himself has acknowledged that the cartoon was inappropriate and has apologized for it.

If Jossip chose to post a thought provoking article on whether political correctness had gone too far I would appreciate it. Instead Jossip has posted more of the same mindless garble which makes it sound like a broken record.

@AMERICAN DREAMER: and you don't sound like a broken record? Your use of the phrase "every single person" is a lie. Some of us couldn't wait to say we agreed with Jossip for a change.

I'm planting potatoes and a select range of other vegetables in the backyard of my country place in the Berkshires this spring so I'll have something to eat after our economic system collapses this summer.

I'm also storing plenty of peanut butter (the safe brands) and dried fruit too.
