The Lost Boys (and Girls) of Celebrity Parents

imagea88106d6-5b1f-473d-ba51-7c3c05b70955

As bad as we feel for Suri Cruise, and Nicole Richie's baby (she still has one, right?), you have to feel even worse for celebrity kids who just didn't make the cut. You know, the children from the first marriage who are at that awkward stage of puberty, who stars can't trot out in People for millions of dollars in front-page coverage to cash in on the baby boom.

The irony of all these "unfamous" children of celebrities is that they are photographed frequently (check any pap website), but rarely in the presence of their famous parents. So while you might get a good glimpse of Johnny Depp's Lily Rose Melody and John "Jack" Christopher Depp III, you'll only see them on days in the park with mommy or a nanny. Hey, just because some famous person is your mom and/or dad, that doesn't mean you exist to the world (unless they're willing to be seen with you).

Connor Antony and Isabella Jane Cruise

Ah, the forgotten, adopted Cruise-Kidman kids. A bleak warning of what may happen to over half the Jolie-Pitt crew if mommy and daddy decide to split. Connor and Isabella have been shuttled back and forth between Kidman and Cruise like the red-headed stepchildren they aren't, as both their parents have new, more important kids. Perhaps the saddest thing of all is how few paparazzi photos there are of Isabella and Connor, especially compared to golden calf Suri. Oh wait, maybe that's not that sad. Although this picture, where Connor and Isabella look like Cruise's sulky bodyguards, is depressing. Connor may be up-and-coming, though: He played Will Smith's son in box office bomb 7 Pounds.

Leave these people alone! Let's have some truth to power about where the real potential of child abuse is brewing: the Obama administration!

If harvesting embryos is OK, how about fetuses?

What comes next for this administration that exploits life for political gain?

Drill Babies, Drill!

I have learned one thing FANOFGRENDEL. You obviously have no scientific background, otherwise you would not have typed such a naive statement. Please educate yourself before spouting off in the future. It would cut down on the confusion. The world is stupid enough as it is.

I am NOT impressed by the manner in which Brangelina are raising their kids:

these kids are trotted around the globe without spending much time in one particular place. this will prevent them from forming lasting friendships with other kids their own age and will turn them into spoiled, emotionally immature young adults.

just take a moment to consider your own childhood friendships and how they helped to shape you as you became an adult, learning right from wrong, proper boundaries, and on and on.

these kids will have none of that.

i have three daughters and one was enrolled at a french school in NYC where maddox was enrolled briefly. the teachers told her maddox was a complete monster, totally undeveloped and unable to interact with other kids. what will happen to them as they get older?

they'll be complete messes

to american dreamer…

if the tabs are to be believed, the kids are already like that. they are not disciplined when they're bad, they run amok at all hours (including at night), never clean up after themselves (their hotel rooms are reportedly "a disaster" when they leave), and are abusive to staff.

also, (according to tabs, so take it with a grain of salt) Brad's mother is disgusted at how they behave and wants to move in with the couple to give the kids some structure.

again, this is NOT from the horse's mouth, so who knows the validity of any of it.

@uh….:

as the mother of three daughters I also know that it gets much harder as children get older to raise them: they all require much more individual attention over time. (two of my daughters are twins and the other came a year later).

I find it hard to believe Brangelina are really focused on this growing challenge.

And I hate to say this, but adopted kids face very special challenges. Every adopted kid I knew had a hard time dealing with it and some of them even turned to drugs or worse.

Brangelina should just drop all their kids off with Octomom (or Octopussy as I like to call her). Octomom won't notice the extra kids.

P.S. worse still rumor has it Brad mostly ignores Pax.

@Just Saying: And you dare to question my scientific knowledge?! Well, at least I'm not a congressman running our country. Representative Jack (tub of guts) Murtha is a real whiz. To honor mathematics, congress was passing a law last week declaring a celebration of "Pi Day". Dumb-ass Murtha thought it was about baking "pies" and said so. When told otherwise, he admited he had never heard of "pi".

Cindy Crawford and Brooke Shields have by far and away the most beautiful celebrity children. Unfortunately she lets her son look like a girl (same problem with Celine Dione and Kate Hudson with their sons).

Plus Cindy Crawford and Brook Shields even includes her kids in commercials!!! That is the complete opposity of moms like Julia Roberts.

@american dreamer: Oh, I don't know much about the rest, but Celine's kid might have a tough time in the schoolyard.

@american dreamer: I hate to rain on your parade, but as a Navy brat who moved constantly I can relate to their nomadic lifestyle and I treasure the memories I have of new homes, places & faces. My lasting friendships have been made as an adult but I don't regret not spending my formative years in one place. The places we lived, the different cultures I was exposed to all made me a more intellectually curious, accepting individual.

Please don't tell me you actually believe what you read in the tabloids. Good news doesn't sell scandal sheets you know. Also, if a teacher at your daughter's school discussed another student (even a former one)with her that person should be fired. How do you know they aren't discussing your daughter's behavior or academic performance with other students? I don't think I'd want my child attending this school.

@VVM:

Maddox was in and out of there so fast he barely qualified as a student. And the school board agreed it was a mistake to admit him as a student.

I have a number of friends who are army brats who bounced around the globe but none of them moved around with the frequency of Brangelina's kids: they spent a few years at a time in each place.

I also agree that a teacher shouldn't disclose anything about students past or present. But I was engaged in a extramarital affair with the teacher (who was a she: my husband is okay with it as long as the third party is another woman) so there were extenuating circumstances where she was more open to me than with other parents.

I don't think schools can expel a teacher for screwing a parent even if that parent is married.

@american dreamer: We gave them a pretty hard time, so I believe they fled in fear. Booklookish made it back to GAWKER safely, but Helman was a little the worse for wear:

@american dreamer:
wow, what an amazing life you lead. screwing teachers and spreading gossip. A teacher can be fired for doing that and should be becuase fankly if she'd liable to talk liek that then I question her intergrity. It's not up to you to judge how maddox will be. I don't totally agree with constanty moving children but for all you know your kids could grow up to be the messed up ones and Brad and Angelina's kids could be happy well adjusted human beings who have a wider world view then you.

hey guys, take it easy on mocking the kids. the parents are fair game but the kids didn't ask to be celebrity children. at least wait until they grow into older teenagers…

@american dreamer: Hopefully you are joking about going to Gawker. Forgive me for making the obvious observation here but the Jossip commenters 'BooklishLookish' and 'Helman' are extremely unlikely to be the same people who post under those handles at Gawker.
