Jeff Zucker Sends Jon Stewart Bouquet of Roses

Despite what you might have thought when The Daily Show host handed the CNBC Mad Money guy his ass, NBC director Jeff Zucker is pleased as punch that one of his guys got shredded by a faux-anchor on Comedy Central.

"We're now into the seventh month of the post-Lehman world and the ratings continue to rise and I think that's because this is not a down market," he said. "This is a change in the structure of investing and Wall Street. This is not just a momentary blip, so I think people are far more concerned and far more interested in the intersection of business and Wall Street."

"Just because someone who mocks authority says something doesn't make it so. And the fact is the audiences have been there in very strong numbers in the past seven days, so there doesn't appear to be any effect there."

Not only are people more interested in the intersection of business and Wall Street, Jeff, they're also interested in seeing how much your anchors can flop around like landed fish after being skewered by a dude who cameoed in Half Baked.

You all need to seperate Cramer, the "Fast Money" crew and some of what Kudlow does from the rest of CNBC. From 6:00 AM to the market close, their anchors and reporters are tops at what they do. Yes, even Santelli, aside from his intemperate rant. Stewart is a master of the obvious, 20/20 hindsight, and he pick the easiest target, which Cramer has made himslf over the years. And if the Post is to be believed, he had some serious inside coaching from his Wall Street brother rior to the, um, interview. Yeah, THAT'S what it was, an INTERVIEW! I thought Stewart sounded smarter than he actually is on the subject. Almost worked, too.

Zucker needs to send his bravest warrior to do battle with Stewart.
