The Pope's Greatest (Worst?) Hits

We should have known it the moment we looked into his creepy, deep-set eyes. Pope Benedict XVI (or, as we like to call him, Joey Rats) is a dangerous man, and that's never been clearer than now, two days after he stood in front of a crowd of the faithful in Africa, a continent scourged by AIDS, and said condoms won't help the fight against HIV. That was a terrible thing you did, Rats! And it wasn't the first time.

On gays

It seems the only thing the Pope hates more than condoms is gays. Not only does ol' Rats believe that gays and lesbians are immoral, he also believes you should be allowed to discriminate against them because of their immorality. In 1992, after writing in an essay that homosexuality is an "objective disorder," the Pope added that sexual orientation is different from race or ethnicity, thereby making it "not unjust discrimination to take sexual orientation into account." What holy love!

Just last year, the Pope told his followers that any derivation from the standard man-woman gender roles was "a violation of the natural order."

On other religions

In June 2007, the German-born Rats approved an official Catholic statement reiterating an old point proclaiming that Christian denominations besides Catholic are not "true churches."

"Christ ‘established here on earth’ only one church,” the document said. The other communities “cannot be called ‘churches’ in the proper sense…"

But it don't stop there! You didn't think he was gonna give Islam a pass, did you? In a speech in 2006, the Pope quoted Manuel II Paleologos of the Orthodox Christian Byzantine Empire, saying to his audience: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." Muslims, as you might imagine, were a bit peeved.

On abortion

We suppose this one was to be sort of expected, but that doesn't mean it's not insane. Dig on the many, many, many things wrong with this direct Rats quote:

The various forms of the dissolution of matrimony today, like free unions, trial marriages and going up to pseudo-matrimonies by people of the same sex, are rather expressions of an anarchic freedom that wrongly passes for true freedom of man…from here it becomes all the more clear how contrary it is to human love, to the profound vocation of man and woman, to systematically close their union to the gift of life, and even worse to suppress or tamper with the life that is born.

Our point: Stop listening to this guy!!!!!!!!

When you understand Christianity he is correct when he state that Catholocism is the one true church. EVERYTHING else is potestant, meaning, they PROTESTED the Catholic beliefs, and Martin Luther WAS a Catholic. He intended to ocme back after all his issues were fixed (and his issues were valid, even the pope will say so)

Mormon and Jahovas Whitness are the only two Christian Churchs that they call themselves Christian that are not excepted.

If you have your grandmothers recipe and someone takes part of it and adds in what they THINK should go in there, is it your grandmothers recipe?

The Catholic Church has taken the stance (rightfully) that if you are not of the founding Church, then you are wrong. Salvation is nothing to fool around with in these days of people starting up there own churches and leading people down a confused path.

When people hear "Catholic" they have a missunderstanding of the word and meaning behind it. To say "I am a Catholic" means to say I follow 2000 years worth a tradition from the time of Christ. It is to say that I follow 2000 years worth of brilliant people who have disected the Bible and can tell you what in WHOLE it means to your life.

People take verses of the bible and bend them ignorantly to what THEY think it means. You connot take a verse with applying it in its whole context.

Do you EVER see protestant holding debates with Catholics? Not really because they dont have a leg to stand on when they start quoting biblical verses. Its always "Yes, you got HALF of it right, but did you read the 10 verses before and AFTER?" "Did you take it into context that old testament and new testament?"

Christians call themselves Christian whithout even KNOWING the fundemental facts. Protestants argue old testament and its as easy as "You take communion right??? DID YOU NOT hear Christ say "THIS IS MY BLOOD, of the NEW Testament"" So anyone who argues the 600+ laws that moses set down should call themselves a Jew vice a Christian

Its not easy to learn or understand by ones self, but if it explained to you FROM a Catholic who knows his/her stuff, I promise you that there is NOTHING that doesnt make sense. Nothing that we do that cant be traced to the bible.
