It's been a tough week out there, with everyone playing pin-the-blame for AIG bonuses on everyone from Jim Cramer to Ben Bernanke, Tim Geithner and Barack Obama. Meanwhile, some bigger media feuds have slipped under the radar as the decision of "Who's to Blame?" gets thrown by the wayside for "Who Can Blame Better?"
Shep Smith versus Glenn Beck
It's funny, because we find Glenn Beck intolerable too, but probably not for the same reasons Shep does. It must be really hard watching that chucklehead come in with his populist jingoism and totally slam your show in the ratings. Even though Smith is arguably the most moderate conservative on Fox, that's really not why people watch that station, is it? Watch Shep air his grievances on Glenn and his satellite truck and imagine how fun it must be to be a producer over at FBN.
Ron Paul versus Bruno
If you haven't heard by now, the few clips of the upcoming Sacha Baron Cohen Bruno movie screened at SXSW this week included segments where the titular gay Austrian tries to get Libertarian Ron Paul in a sex tape. Although the footage hasn't been leaked yet, hearing Rachel Maddow try to discuss this without cracking up is a worthwhile time-waster on its own.
The Real World versus the American Army
Now, I would never imply that MTV had some sort of foreknowledge or arrangement with the U.S. Army that cast mate Ryan would grapple with stop loss, on-air, during a segment. But since they just happened to be there filming every second of this dude's life, it worked out perfectly! Now youngsters (or bloggers, or whoever still watches The Real World) can see what it's like to be called back to duty after you've finished your first tour of devastation in "Operation: Iraqi Freedom." Seeing as how Ryan already suffers from some form of PTSD, maybe by the time they get him on the Road Rules/Real World challenge (do they still do that?) he'll be like Gomer Pyle/Puck hybrid. Ratings sweep!
Dennis Miller/Bill O'Reilly versus Glenn Beck
Yo, seriously, does everyone at Fox begrudge Beck his good ratings? Sure, he is a nutso pants, and liberals should feel free to throw rocks at his prophetic doomsday rhetoric, but Bill O'Reilly? Really, dude? What leg do you and turncoat Miller have to stand on while making fun of this guy for being overly enthusiastic? At least Beck has yet to flip out on his teleprompter, or be called the "stupid man's Jon Stewart," so he's already leagues above y'all.
Glenn Beck versus The World
Meh, you're right, guys. Glenn Beck is the worst. He needs to go away forever and take his basic iMovie-editing skills scare tactics with him. Dude, take the hint: Even Bill O'Reilly is sort of agreeing that you're too much. Go back to Limbaugh Patriotism 101 and call us when you're ready to start a specific, public feud with someone in the media for our entertainment. Until then, you're just hot air.

Ratings wise, Beck is the hottest thing on cable right now. Result: jealousy by people like Miller who had his shot and missed.
You know its funny, when Beck was on CNN Headline News no one made a peep about him, then he joins Fox and he becomes a magnet for every idiot blogger out there.
i thought he was a bit kooky on CNN, but now that he's on FOX he seems a little emotional and extra dramatic.
