Despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that the press tracked her every move the last time she adopted a Malawian "orphan," David Banda, back in 2006, the Material Girl isn't satisfied with just one. Malawian children are like her Pokemon, and now the 50-year old songstress is planning to add another adorable accessory to her collection.
Madonna's bid to adopt a second Malawian child, a baby girl called Mercy James, will be examined by a court in the southern African country next week, officials said on Friday.
"Her name is Mercy James from Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died… We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week," an official at the ministry of Gender and Child Development told Reuters.
Well, as long as you're positive that Mercy doesn't have any living parents. Because that was such an egg-on-your-face whoopsie when Madonna took away someone's kid while the father was still alive and confused.

Guess Jesus Luz wasn't young enough for the Material mom. While admirable that she wants to adopt a child why not adopt one here in the US? The orphanages in this country are filled with children who need a loving mum with a wide open… uh purse.

I hate it when people ask why Madonna would go to Malawi to adopt. How stupid can you be? It's Africa! No matter how bad orphaned children have it in the U.S., and that's always a terrible situation, it is 100 times worse in Malawi. You can't even compare the level of poverty they have there with anything over here. Not to mention, that's where David is from and she has a charity, Raising Malawi, that works to help the country all the time. Not that hard to understand.
