Or just a woman who "resembled" the vice president's daughter, Ashley Biden? A male "friend" of Ashley, 27, began shopping around a 43-minute tape of the supposed VP offspring with a $2 million asking price. Given the economy — no thanks to Obama-Biden policies, of course! — the fee dropped to $400,000.
The New York Post was given a 90-second screening of the flick, and although they "refused to pay for the video" — a sudden bout of ethics at the paper, or did Murdoch slash their pay-for-play budget? — and reports the footage:
shows a 20-something woman with light skin and long brown hair taking a red straw from her mouth, bending over a desk, inserting the straw into her nostril and snorting lines of white powder.
She then stands up and begins talking with other people in the room. A young man looks on from behind her, facing the camera. The lawyers said he was Ashley's boyfriend of a few years.
The camera follows the woman from a few feet away, focusing on her as she moves around the room. It appears not to be concealed. At one point she shouts, "Shut the f— up!"
The woman appears to resemble Ashley Biden, 27, a social worker for a Delaware child-welfare agency and a visible presence during her father's campaign for the White House.
So is this really Ashley Biden? The Post covers its tracks by saying the girl on the tape only "appears to resemble" the VP's daughter, which is a tabloid-y trick you're already familiar with if you've seen celeb weekly coverlines like: "SHE'S PREGNANT: Jennifer Aniston looks like she's carrying a baby." Or something.
But then there's this damning evidence:
"At one point she pretty much complains that the line isn't big enough," said the second lawyer, who declined to identify himself. "And she talks about her dad."
Biden has been an outspoken crusader against drugs, coining the term "drug czar" in 1982 while campaigning for a more forceful "war on drugs."
The lawyers declined to name the person who shot the video, but said he knew Ashley well and had attended other parties with her at which there were illegal drugs.
So is this tape gonna sell? A very strong maybe possibly. "An American media company" offered $250 large; an international group offered $225k. And the seller, given that he shot the video in the company of drug users, is covering his bases: He's got a criminal defense attorney on the line just in case his identity leaks and the Obama administration finds it in their heart to make an example out of the guy.
