At least, that's what you're assuming she meant when she told People "Growing up is important, and I've got to do that gracefully, but also keep myself at a good pace." Fortunately for Miley, there have been a bunch of twee stars that were able to make it once they left their Disney-fied roots. Unfortunately for the 16-year old Hannah Montana, those people include Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and the Olsen twins. (Though the Olsen's were never part of Disney's franchise, since they created their own.) Not exactly the definition of "aging gracefully."

The best she can hope for is some Hillary Duff-age, but that Annie Leibovitz shoot last year certainly didn't point her in the right direction.

Britney was fired by The Mouse when she was thirteen along with the rest of the MMC crew. She made it big as a popstar when she was with Jive not Disney.

When The Mouse saw how much money Britney, Justin, Christina and gang were generating for others they decided to indenture their own young popstars, Huff Duff, Miley, the Jonai, etc. However none of these indentured Disney kids has ever approached the success of the MMC gang The Mouse fired.

Miley has not only approached but surpassed the success of those others…she will be worth a billion dollars in the next year.
