For those not initiated with the show, the guy from Pineapple Express is Danny McBride, aka Kenny Powers, an egocentric all-star pitcher, now reduced a pathetic gym class teacher. In the hands of P.T. Anderson, this would be pathos. In the hands of Charlie Kaufman, it would be sardonic heartbreak. But with Jody Hill (Observe and Report, The Foot-Fist Way) it's pure comedy gold. All you need to know about this scene is that both these men just took a fuck ton of Ecstasy.

Kenny and his assistant/minion Stevie make a video reel that highlights the Power's prowess to get him back in the big leagues.

Some might argue that the pilot of EBaD jumped the shark (so to speak) by putting this scene in the first episode. For the uninitiated, this is the scene everyone is talking about when they talk about Eastbound. Either this, or the Ecstasy middle school dance thing. Second season, can't wait! Maybe HBO will finally gain some quality ground on Showtime, which it's lost ever since The Wire and Sopranos went off the air. I would definitely pick this shit over The United States of Diablo Cody's ADHD.
