Joss Whedon Multitasks Failure

So Dollhouse is getting cut short after only 12th episodes on Fox. Which always seems to happen for Joss Whedon's shows, oh, except for Buffy which lasted forever. That means the last episode of the season, titled Epitath, won't be seen by fans unless they buy the DVD. Time for the Scooby Gang to do some marketing!

Whedon compatriot Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog) had a role in the unscheduled episode and Twittered: "Man, day getting worse and worse. Found out my Dollhouse ep, #13 isn't gonna air. Only on DVD. Such a great part too. Thx Fox. :( …"

And then later DrHorrible, the account from Whedon's Web show, replied, "It's true. Dollhouse ep 13 isn't going to air. This makes @feliciaday sad. How do you feel? Why don't share those feelings with FOX?"

I sort of feel bad I never made room for Dollhouse in my schedule, now that a fictional Neil Patrick Harris guilt-tripped me over Twitter.

Apparently this does not actually mean that Dollhouse has been cancelled. According to E!, the reason the episode won't air (yet?) is that the scrapped pilot technically counts toward the original 13-episode order, but Fox wants to put a full 13 on the DVD. Or something. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link or not (so I won't), but E!'s Kristen Dos Santos (or one of her minions)in her Watch With Kristen column (I swear I'm not a shill…) tries to explain how this does not necessarily spell the end of Dollhouse. Just to clarify. Or not.

What the hell is wrong with TV execs? Like.. they universally make stupid, bad decisions every time there's a good show on.
