Man, when David Gregory was picked over ginger-haired NBC political director Chuck Todd to host Meet the Press, no one was more disappointed than yours truly. This guy gets picked last for every Zucker/Griffin pick-up team and have been snubbed for every post-Obama position, despite being more qualified and less of a knucklehead than half the "objective" reporters on MSNBC/NBC, in part because of a perceived judgment from a man who wrote How Barack Obama Won: A State-by-State Guide to the Historic 2008 Presidential Election. Though Gwen Ifill was still allowed to moderate a presidential debate? Boooo!
But no longer: Todd is rising to the top, baby!
MSNBC is vetting the "goateed guru" for a weekend show on MSNBC, according to the Observer, meaning that technically Todd could be on Sunday right before/after MtP. More likely, MSNBC will put Todd on Saturday morning where there is less competition for political coverage from other networks (including their own). And that's a good thing: When lined up against the powerhouses of Meet the Press, Face the Nation, and This Week, a new show (even one hosted by a known face) would likely be seen as a crowd. Saturday mornings, who would Todd be competing with? Besides cartoons, of course.

Who in the hell watches MSNBC, ever?!?
It doesn't matter how "smart" he is, who can stand to look at that ugly mug without hurling……and in the morning? C'mon, I thought we were doing away with torture!
Todd isn't a cartoon???
Chuck Todd is one of the smartest political analyst on TV.
during the election campaign, whenever he would come on I knew we were about to hear fact and figures, not the stupid fluff that passes for analysis on TV.
I tend to call him "ChuckyT" - It's not about beauty it's about smarts, good luck Chuck, you're the best.
Chuck Todd is a star. He is whip smart, genial, funny, and handsome. So many of the analysts and pundits on t.v. just repeat the same "conventional political wisdom." Todd always has something new and insightful to add and he isn't a cheerleader for either side who gets caught up in the personalities and talking ponits of politicians. He is shrewd and understands politicals. Go Chucky T!
I'd look to see him on Saturday at Noon where Tim Russert had his (other) show.
Most of the NBC folk make me hurl, but Chuck is alright by me.
Good for him.
lol at the pussyhurt republicans
