Barack Obama and His Magical Team of Behavioral Scientists

n_obama_banks_090414grid-4x2
Hey, remember when the stock market crashed and suddenly no one you went to college with had a job anymore? Well thank god for Barack Obama, and his team of "behavioral economists" that he's been vetting since pretty much the beginning of his campaign. Because you see, the traditional theories of economy (Chicago style?) is that people are these perfect little machines that make rational decisions when it comes to the market. Except, as we've all learned too late, it's all about consumer confidence, baby. So Obama's team of Freakonomics has taken it upon themselves to draw up a new Wall Street standard.

A brand new future guys! Don't worry, Georgetown University, as long as you kids can stay in your post-grad programs for a couple more years, you won't have to deal with the crippling economic uncertainty that we face today.

WASHINGTON – A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed "right-wing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

Do you think she's aware of the drug war just across the border where they are beheading people? She seems to be another Obama one-track wonder! Beware, the returning VETS! Obama,"This speech is about the economy" I can't answer a question about pirates, I skipped all those classes when I was in the Senate, and besides my telepromter not loaded with pirate answers lol

There is a tea party in LA for gay and lesbian people mad that they are being taxed and don't have equal rights. The Boston tea party was about anger of taxation without representation so the gay rights tea party makes sense. The right wing tea party are entitled people who feel they should reap the benefits of America but somehow THEY should not have to pay taxes. It's that conservative affirmative action again. The poor things are so ignorant they don't even know what the Boston tea party was about. It was not about rich people's taxes going up 2.7%.

It is interesting how right wing people are allowed to express their opinion but if left wing wing people express facts they respond with sophomoric childishness never facts themselves. The only tea party that makes sense tomorrow is the gay rights one. And all the middle class people who are having tea parties to protest that rich people's taxes will go up 2.7% and people evading paying taxes with Swiss bank accounts will be exposed are dupes.

Today American taxpayers in more than 300 locations in all 50 states will hold rallies — dubbed "tea parties" — to protest higher taxes and out-of-control government spending.

There is no political party behind these rallies, no grand right-wing conspiracy, not even a 501(c) group like MoveOn.org.

Did anyone see the MSNBC comment that Anderson Cooper made about the Tea Parties? Something like "It's hard to speak when you're tea-bagging"????? (Note: NOT an exact quote I'm looking for it!)Wow I didn't know he finally came out!

The Tea Party protests are for everyone who feels that too much taxation is not economic stimulus…

Did anyone realize that if you make less than $ 20,000 per annum you get a $5,000 tax refund!

it's building, the first tea partys, couple hundred attended, today they shut down Atlanta, 10,000 on a week-day. These are people who took a day off, not people that are off every day and are paid to go carry a sign.

Have been listening to talk radio and America's hero's are practically in tears, they serve their country and come back threats to society. Does the secretary of Homeland Security, not realize that good portion of cops, firefighters and security people are former military, including her own security?

And the mainstream media loved to show protest from the left with as little as a dozen people.

Since these folks are protesting Obama (the beloved dog master) spending of tax money, you will see nothing but negative coverage from most media sources.

@Jen: Most vets I know are "angry" and hurt, American Legion is demanding an apology from Homeland Security and would like her resignation, like that's gonna happen in an Obama administration. What would a person have to do to get thrown out of the Obama administration? perhaps, Pay taxes, I don't know.

The vets weren't crying on talk radio, they were so angry verging on tears, maybe that's better said.

@ILoveAmerica: It actually didn't state the American Legion specifically, it said extremist groups tend to target right-wing vets (who usually join the legion) as recruits into their organizations. I understand why a vet would take this to heart, but my father is a member of the Legion and my brother a Marine who served in Iraq and they are not freaking out. It was an internal Government behavior report, I am sure there are even scarier things written about other sects of people than this. For instance, people who rant and rave on gossip sites like Jossip (which includes me).

Another tempest in a teapot. The Klan and Neo-Nazi groups have begun toattempt to actively recruit vets that is a fact. It is more propaganda to say that our President is making our troops public enemy it is simply not true and funny how gullible some people are. Deciding to bring the troops home from an unjust, economy busting war that has cost us over 1.7 trillion dollars, and lost thousands and thousand of young americans full of promise their very lives. It is funny how the President who sent almost five thousand kids to their death on a lie and forty thousand to be permanent mangled on a lie supposedly loved the troops. But the President who wants to send them home and only use our troops if it is a matter of national security (Afghanistan) somehow does care about the troops. Michelle Obama's has spent a large amount of her time on troops families which Laura Bush spent very little time on. It was easier to read to school children than to look into the faces of the people whose lives were being destroyed for a b*llshit lie. More of that convenient conservative affirmative action. In their minds only they love this country and deserve to be here even though they wipe their asses with the constitution and are so upset that there is a President named Barak that they can't even use his name they have to try to Anglicize it and call him barry. To them people with ethnic names don't deserve to be Prez and they must be UP to something.

@DONT TREAD ON ME: Before you make jokes do your research. She has spent every weekend except 2 since the Inauguration meeting with troops families and good amount of time during each week as well. Troops families are struggling more than the average non-military family she even planted a garden to grow vegetables as there are so many family who are now doing that out of desperation at food prices to feed their families. If she has a make up artist who cares so did Sarah Palin, George Bush (who had one on site in the White House for 8 years), and John Mccain they all traveled with makeup people. I live on the planet earth where people are concerned about important things like our troops lives and their families not sound equipment and makeup artists. Just because Fox news doesn't tell you something does not mean it has not happened.

Michelle Obama was involved with alot of trouble in the military, they convinced some military wives to use their husbands absentee voter registration to vote for Obama when they knew their husbands supported John McCain. Then they got scared and went to the military, brought to you by Acorn

There was such scandal and anyone who can offer a shred of proof is welcome. The voices in your own head are not proof FYI. Anyone who has a legitimate report or article produce it. Acorn was not part of the Obama administration the company that runs most voter machines is owned and run by a huge John Mccain supporter so what there has to be proof of malfeasance unless you are a kook that is.

The Obama's aren't part of Acorn? the community orgainzer and the community outreach, Miss Shelly got a huge raise of $300,000 after her hubby became the sen from Il, reminds of Blago trying to get wifey a job, doesn't it. Michelle earned $300,000 after Obama became sen to be a community outreach person. I think that means she does lunch:) Obama's are dirty, dirty, dirty,Chicago dirty!

and the VFW, the largest veterans' group in the US, stands behind this report.

Jen, don't bother arguing with Rhonda. she takes what she hears on her "fair and balanced" tv/radio stations and takes it as gospel.

I found it hard to believe that the gov't would single out a particular veterans' group, so I did some research and found out that what you said is true. The American Legion was NOT singled out. but these folks would rather believe what they're told than do some research to find out the truth. and then perpetuate the lies that they're fed.

it's sad, really.

and, as I said before, Tim McVeigh was a veteran right-wing extremist. so this "threat" is real, however much people want to use the warning to claim that the Obama admin isn't "for" vets.
