Obama Puppy Now Fielding Your Questions

Surprisingly, the new White House puppy Bo's influence on Obama can already be quantified. Why else would our president suddenly be sniffing Felipe Hinojosa's ass during his recent visit to Mexico City?

Did the press ask the new Obama dog whether he had a chance to say goodbye to his mom before the breeder returned his mom to her cage where she will spend the rest of her life pumping out one litter after another?

@American Dreamer (sorry I was off my meds last night): Only bad breeders treat their dogs that way. The family that this dog comes from are wonderful breeders who cost more but breed dogs sensibly and in a very humane manner. When you look at the conditions at the pound they don't stand up to the conditions at a reputable breeder. There is nothing wrong with wanting a pedigreed dog instead fo a mutt it is a personal choice.

@getreal:

Liar liar pants on fire!!! You are just feeling guilty because you obviously bought a dog from a breeder. Say a prayer for the bitch (one of the few times I can properly use that word!!!) that gave birth to your dog.

It is normal for a bitch (there I go again!) to give birth to two or possibly three litters in her lifetime.

But the American Kennel Club has WRITTEN PROOF FROM SURVEYS CONDUCTED TO ASSESS WHETHER INBREEDING OCCURS that the average breeder registered with the American Kennel Club makes their bitches on average produce TEN litters in a lifetime which is absolutely abhorrent.

That is one litter for their life.

Plus PETA has records showing that many reputable breeders send their bitches (oops!!!) to be put to sleep or abandon them. These bitches dont live in a healthy home environment with a family to love.

It isnt just puppy mills that use and abuse bitches. They all treat them like Octomom.

If you already have a dog you bought from a breeder WHY DONT YOU ADOPT A RESCUE DOG TOO!!! Dogs love and need dog companionship so you'll be doing a beautiful thing for your existing dog.

@American Dreamer (sorry I was off my meds last night): PETA kills almost every animal that they rescue. My dog's dam lives in the breeders home. Life is rarely black and white sometimes it's gray. If some people want a flea bitten mutt from the pound more power to them. For the people who want a puppy of a specific breed and are willing to the research to insure it came from a good breeder we have the right and I don't feel there is any moral superiority in getting a mutt from the pound. If you are going to start talking PETA their position is that animals are not possessions the head of PETA believes pet ownership is pet slavery.

Dont fall for the B.S. Ruth!!!

PETA has a lawsuit pending against the persons who produced that advertisement because it is an outright lie.

PETA DOES put dogs to sleep but only dogs that have advanced heart disease from heartworm so they are in terrible pain and are not adoptable by anyone (or some other similar illness).

There has been a series of advertisements popping up on the internet by a fur related group making lies about PETA's euthanasia practices. PETA has a program to pull abused dogs off the street for adoption and where the dog is very ill and in pain it will put it to sleep just like any responsible dog rescue group.

@getreal:

like I explained to Ruth PETA has a well funded program down South and in certain other areas of country to collect abused and homeless dogs for adoption. Where the dog has advanced heart disease or another terminal illness that puts the dog in pain the dog will be put to sleep in a humane manner.

Otherwise that link Ruth sent is an outright lie. PETA won a lawsuit in two circuit courts against the group that created that film because it is an outright lie but the group is a shadow organization that keeps posting it.

If you think PETA is honestly putting to sleep "every dog PETA collects" like the video suggests you are a completely naive chump. PETA is run by animal lovers. The "documented proof" referenced in the video was proven in the circuit court case to be completely fabricated. The people they named in the video never worked for PETA and PETA thinks they may not even exist.

I watched HBO's documentary about PETA and it's President it was made completely with their permission and they were given access to every aspect of the organization even the head of PETA admitted that they euthanize most of the animals that they rescue. Why not watch the documentary it is quite even handed and informative. If you are a dog owner PETA feels that YOU are exploiting animals. This is not a thread about PETA or mutts vs pedigreed dogs it is about the President's dog.

@getreal:

I've seen the documentary twice…the only dogs euthanized in that documentatary had advanced heart worm disease.

You are taking the statement completely out of context. They only said they euthanize most of the dogs they take back to their headquarters BECAUSE most of the dogs they take back are already terminally ill. Noone is putting to sleep healthy dogs. PETA has a full staff of vets who all love dogs.

What exactly is your objective? If you are trying to demonize PETA it wont work. PETA is the same organizing that has brought the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to bring legal action against slaughterhouses, breeders, puppy mills and more for abusive practices.

The simple fact remains that the AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB has its own documented proof that registered breeders force their bitches to have on average ten litters in a lifetime which means these poor bitches spend most of their lives pregnant or recovering from pregnancy.

Do you honestly think that the mother of your dog you bought from a breeder is anything other than a commoedity used to pump out as many litters as possible? I've worked for two breeders before I was enlightened and know other breeeders. Their bitches are either pregnant, recovering from pregnancy or getting pregnant for their whole lives. It is incredibly cruel.

The only difference between breeders and puppy mill operators is the breeders dont keep their bitches confined to cages.

"They only said they euthanize most of the dogs they take back to their headquarters BECAUSE most of the dogs they take back are already terminally ill."

So I was right they euthanize most of the dogs they rescue.

So you worked for two bad breeders who it sounds like were very abusive to their animals seems like your anger should be aimed at yourself. I've never abused animals or aided and abetting anyone else's abusive of them. This seems to be your issue.

Before you make a blanket statement why dont you go to PETA's website and look at any one of the following videos that are a product of their undercover operations which led our federal government to take CRIMINAL ACTION against the perpetrators:

(1) the University of Illinois reserach facility that sliced open the tendons of the beagles that they collected from animal shelters (and also german sheperds) who they then required to lay splayed out on the floor while force feeding them different food combinations to test the efficacy of new dog food products for the IAMS corporation

(2) a slaughterhouse in texas where cows with broken feet (broken at the ankle) where whipped into dragging themselves across the slaughterhouse floor for slaughter….or another slaughterhouse in Texas where the cows were skinned alive (you could see them struggling as they got skinned) several people who worked at both are now in federal prison

(3) for a change of pace look at their chinese video showing dogs being skinned alive for their fur used in Sean Puffy Combs fashions (it was too time consuming to kill them first)

they even show skinless dogs laying all in a row to bleed to death then they were turned into food

HEY RUTH: AFTER YOU EAT ONE OF THOSE BURGERS HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK ITS WAY THROUGH YOUR FAT ASS BEFORE YOU DEFECATE

i bet that pumping out a huge turd is the closest thing Ruth has ever gotten to an orgasm

I obviously hit a nerve with you because you are protesting my point so vehemently.

What I think would be helpful would be for you to go to http://www.petfinder.com, pick "dog" and then click on "breed" and you will see that over half the dogs on the site are pure breeds available for adoption

i earn over $600,000 per year….I could easily afford to buy a pure bred dog…but I did the right thing and adopted….one of my dogs was blind and diabetic and the other two were badly abused. but you can get a beautiful pure breed puppy for free with all its shots and neutered too instead of spending a fortune on a breeder

what amazes me living here in NYC is I constantly meet people who pay thousands of dollars to buy a dog from a breeder, then up to $600 for the first round of puppy shots, and then another $600 for neutering. They can get that all for free from a rescue group. Most of these idiots cant even afford it.

I didn't have enough patience to read all of the pages of comments.

PETA is neither an evil nor an innocent organization. There are plenty of crazies at PETA and lots of issues they have pushed too far. (ie, exploiting women to argue against exploiting animals).

However, PETA has also been behind countless wonderful causes that have ensured or helped to ensure the saftey and well being of all kinds of animals.

All of you are ridiculous to argue the organization is all good or all bad. Listen to what PETA has to say, but with a grain of salt. Demonizing PETA is like demonizing organized religion. Yeah, lots of things are super fucked up about it, but you can't argue there isn't some good in there too.
