When Britney Spears' Las Vegas show was announced, her people vowed the pop star would NOT be lipsyncing during her performances.
She would sing and dance and give everyone an amazing LIVE show. So...she's sticking to half that. And that half is definitely not the "no lipsyncing" half of the bargain.
Britney Spears was lipsyncing during a recent performance and we know that thanks to a wardrobe malfunction of a different sort.
Her costume stayed in place, but her microphone headset did not. When it fell off her ear, Spears didn't miss a beat.
Watch for yourself and feel Brit Brit's shame.
Britney Spears' "Piece of Me" show has been the subject of much scrutiny, thanks in part to rumors like this one that she was prone to lipsyncing during her performances, relying heavily on backing tracks from back up singers.
And let's be real, here. Britney Spears is way more a dancer than a singer, you know? She always has been. (Which is at least part of the reason her stint as an X Factor judge was such an odd choice for a singing competition.)
While her team have long denied these rumors, things like this keep happening and proving them to be lying liars.
Even her team contradicts itself.
Her rep says, “Britney Spears will be singing live during her show (and) she will not be ‘lip-synching.’”
And then manager Larry Rudolph says:
“There might be some numbers where she’s full out dancing with a (vocal) track underneath her, but there won’t be any lip-syncing across the board on anything.”
Oh, Brit Brit. Just own it already. Dance your assets off and people will still come just to say they were there.
