“Has this all been for nothing?” That’s a question Emily Thorne will no doubt be asking herself after Revenge Season 4 Episode 4.

David Clarke is alive and back in the world again and now she knows it. So does everyone else thanks to a brilliantly told tale that provided David an alibi and further sold Conrad as an evil monster.

From start to finish, this episode was one to remember. While we’ve known since the end of Revenge Season 3 that David Clarke was alive, Emily, Jack, and (maybe) Nolan haven’t been privy to this fact.

Now she is, and since Victoria is the one standing by his side, an entirely new revengenda will be carried out. It’s going to be delicious.

The single best moment in the entire episode occurred when Emily stepped into the lineup room and saw her father for the first time since she watched him carried out of their home in the middle of the night. The emotion on her face, first confusion, then shock, then disbelief, and then the acknowledgement that she was, in fact, staring at a (presumed to be) dead man were spot on!

Amazing! Perfect! Give the woman a round of applause!

Jack’s moment just before comes in a close second. He mistakenly called out “David” over the intercom and knew he was looking at a ghost when David’s head popped up. Why Jack doesn’t want David to know he’s an officer yet is unclear, but it probably has something to do with the fact that he knows Emily’s going to have some Red Sharpie-level takedowns coming for Victoria.

Elsewhere, Daniel and Margaux are giving a relationship a serious chance and it’s rather adorable to watch. She’s good for him. Now if only Charlotte could find a positive influence for her own life…

Seriously. You’re going to want to watch Revenge online this week if for no other reason than to catch Emily’s facial expressions throughout the episode. Trust me.
