"SURPRISE" HIRE Rupert Murdoch has named Robert Thomson as the Wall Street Journal's new managing editor, replacing Marcus Brauchli, who departed last month, and confirming everyone's suspicions that Murdoch has every intent of turning the paper into a right-y mouthpiece for his own agenda.
