Because race is just so hot these days, MSNBC hosted a “conversation about race,” which aired Friday after Meeting David Wilson. The panelists — Tom Joyner, Michael Eric Dyson, Malaak Compton-Rock, screenwriter Kriss Turner, writer Kevin Powell, columnist Mike Barnicle, Tim Wise, the Director of the Association for White Anti-Racist Education (AWARE), and Rev. Buster Soaries — discussed a number of issues, including self-esteem and self-worth levels in the black community. A hint: they’re really, realy, really low.

    How can this be blamed on the media. People need to get a grip. Many brown and black people have plenty of self-esteem. Noone interviews them. That doll experiment is idiotic. There is no substitute for parents who devote themselves to the upbringing of their children. It doesn't matter how poor or rich you are. When children are loved and applauded and adored by their parents and family everything else just scatters away.
