Okay, the Harry Potter fans and their midnight book release parties were bad enough. Sorry, if you are over 29 and still need to dress up like a prepubescent boy wizard while simultaneously trying to convince your skeptic friends that the books deal with adult situations applicable to the real world, you lost me at "hello."

But there is something far more disturbing about those Twilight fans that are already starting to line up outside theaters for an early screening of the vampire film. Never mind that the lead, Robert Patterson, also starred in a Potter film. Never mind all the "highbrow" vampire analogies to budding puberty and/or homosexuality (depending on whether you are watching Buffy or True Blood). The thing that really bugs me about the whole Twilight franchise is the tween fans unwillingness to dress for the part.

See, there's no shame in being a dork obsessed with a corporate-created fantasy. But at least Rocky Horror fans put their freakshow out on display for the world to see. This line-up in front of Mann's theatre looks like they are lining up for the first pink iPhone sale at Best Buy. Where are your capes, people?!?
