Actually, Bill O'Reilly Never Called Scott McClellan's Camp to Book Him as a Guest

mcclellanoreilly.jpg

After all Bill O'Reilly's whining over trying to book Scott McClellan, he'll have to watch the former White House spokesman on NBC's Today show this morning like everybody else. And then, later tonight, he should TiVo Keith Olbermann's show, because that's where McClellan will also be making a stop. [Variety]

Yesterday we brought you O'Reilly's rant about not being able to book McClellan, which went something like this: "I said, ‘Hey Scott, come on the program, you know the Factor sells more books than any other show. Absolutely want to have you.’ Then he said he was gonna come on and now he’s not. That shows me he’s a weasel. Then who does he sign up with? The crazy left. Now when you do that, and I’m saying to myself, ‘I’ve got no axe to grind against Scott McClellan.’ I mean I just want to ask him questions about his book. The same thing I do with Hillary Clinton. But now I see what the marketing strategy is: Go to the Bush-hater people and that’s where we’ll sell our books."

Now, via a comment left by someone claiming to be from McClellan's publishing house, we learn how O'Reilly lost out on the big get:

I work for McClellan’s publisher and saw first-hand what happened: We booked Scott’s media on the highest-rated shows that called us first. Whatever Scott may have said to him in the past, show producers know that these gigs are booked through book publicists. But we did not get a call from O’Reilly. When we reached out to them, because Scott did very much want to appear on Fox’s best-rated show, O’Reilly’s producer would not agree to have Scott come on unless they could “go first.” Since we already had long committed to other shows who demonstrated early interest, we could not just put O’Reilly at the front of the queue and renege on those existing commitments. Whereupon O’Reilly’s producer declined to have him on at all. We are happy to sell books to anyone, and have booked many an author on O’Reilly; but we are not happy to acquiesce to the “me first or I don’t play at all” tactics of show producers, nor do we like them then trying to pass off the absence of the guest as some kind of evil money-making ploy on our part and moral superiority on theirs. So it’s not ok for a publishing house to try to make money, but ok for a television show to try to get ratings (which lead to advertisers which lead to money)?

This posting would make sense if it wasn't for the fact that "Today" insisted on "me first or I don't play at all" - and the publicist agreed.
When you're talking out of both sides of your mouth at once, you've got to have some kind of distraction going on at the same time.
Maybe they could have Hillary in the background talking about the vast rightwing conspiracy.

WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT HERE IS NOT BILL O'REILLEY IN ANY MATTER OR WAY. BILL IS TOTALLY MEANINGLESS TO THE SCHEME OF THINGS. WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THAT SCOTT MCLELLAN IS HELPING HISTORIANS TO WRITE THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR OF BUSH AND HIS CRONIES WHO SCHEMED AND LIED US INTO A WAR THAT HAS WASTED SO MANY YOUNG LIVES, STILL COSTS US 3 BILLION DOLLARS A DAY AND RUINED OUR ECONOMY, SENT OUR GAS PRICES SOARING WHILE HE GOES ROUND HOLDING HANDS WITH THE SAUDI ARABIAN PRINCE WHILE BEGGING HIM TO GIVE US A BREAK ON OIL PRICES (BY THE WAY, HE WAS TURNED DOWN, WHICH MAKES HIM EVEN MORE PATHETIC), HE HAS TRAMBLED ON OUR LAWS AND CONSTITUTION, TURNED OUR NATION'S CAPITOL INTO A HAVEN FOR LOBBYISTS, SOLD OUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO THE BIG CORPORATIONS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, BANKS, ETC., RUINED SOCIAL SECURITY, RUINED AMERICA'S GREAT REPUTATION, AND PUT US SO FAR I DEBT THAT IT WILL TAKE GENERATIONS TO TURN IT AROUND, IF EVER. OUR BELOVED COUNTRY MIGHT WELL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. ALL THANKS TO AN ADDICT MORON WITH AN ALCOHOL SOAKED BRAIN, WITH AN IQ LESS THAN HIS AGE, WHO WAS HANDED THE PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES BY FRIENDS OF HIS DADDY. BUSH IS A DISGRACE TO THIS COUNTRY AND IN A WAY SCOTT MCLELLAN HAS HELPED HISTORIANS DO THEIR JOB BECAUSE THEY CAN USE HIS FACTUAL INSIDE INFORMATION TO HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT CROOKED TRASH BUSH SURROUNDED HIMSELF WITH AND HOW THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WERE ALL DUPED INTO AT FIRST SUPPORTING HIS PHONY WAR BY BEING SCARED TO DEATH BY BUSH AND HIS FEAR AND WAR MONGERERS. I NEVER DOUBTED THAT THE TRUTH WOULD EVENTUALLY COME OUT AND I HAVE A FEELIN' WE AIN'T HEARD NOTHIN' YET! I'M JUST SORRY IT'S COMING OUT SO LATE IN BUSH'S LAST TERM. BUT BETTER THAN NOT AT ALL.

WOW! The pajama truth squad: blogger-wise!! So now we are supposed to accept the "truth" as coming from some anonymous DOPE in pajamas claiming "to work for McClellan's publisher and saw first hand what happened" via O'Reilly. This anonymous blogger needs to change out of his dirty pajamas, and take a cold morning shower of truth! Who cares about any such of his petty nonsense. The only fact worth noting here is how O'Reilly has booked the appallingly venal McClellan for Monday nite under any circumstance now. One does wonder if this Scott McCLellan guy, however, is also related to that original "traitor" of his same surname: the infamous, also extremely incompetent, Civil War General McCLellan who ran for president in 1864 against Lincoln, on a Democratic Party ticket to defeat all that was fought for so nobly in the Civil War. THAT traitor McClellan was intent upon preserving southern slavery, while throwing away the honorable Union dead who had so nobly fought to preserve the UNION, the north American experiment i democracy, and to not incidentally end that slavery to that time, WELL now,.. I do betcha they are one and the same lousy family!!…AND, "GET LOST" to whatever lying blogging anonymous nutsos we should NEVER take seriously! GET REAL "Jossip!"

One look at the pictures posted for this article really shows the bias of the original poster. How petty can you be to post a goof shot of the person you don't like. It's totally asinine. The only thing more absurd then that is the fact that you actually took the time to repost some unconfirmed garbage.
