Al Roker Now the Smartest Man on The Today Show
The Kennedy Curse eludes Matt Lauer

To be fair, when Matt Lauer had Robert Kennedy Jr. on his show to talk about the "Democratic activist's" new children's book, he probably thought it was going to be a breeze. But if there is one thing they teach you in Morning Show Journalism 101, it's that you never ask a Kennedy how a family member is doing. Because then you end up stuck in that uncomfortable position as The Soup's best clip of last week:

"How's your dad doing? I mean, yeah…yes your dad?"
"My uncle?"
"I'm sorry, My…I mean your uncle" *flails arms wildly, hoping to dispel any Kennedy Curse that may have become airborne*

What a disconnected unprepared interview.

Oof, you know that's going on the Matt Lauer gag reel at the Christmas party: http://tinyurl.com/4kd3dg

But don't worry, Matt — yours will never be as long or embarrassing as the Ann Curry gag reel.

Geeez. Is he trying to ask about Teddy? Even the right brother…it's better left unsaid. He had a seizure last week Matt, don't you read the papers?

hey guys - i realize this isn't that important but it's not actually "The Today Show", it's "Today" but over the years people just say the today show…

again, i realize it's no big deal but since you are, uh, journalists and all, I thought I'd point it out!

In other news, Lauer rarely slips (save for that atrocious Roker Olympic rythmic gymnastic duet) but wow, that was a painful one! almost gets him back for cheating on his wife so incessantly. just sayin'.
