But how to tell where this trend is really headed?

By looking to a certain pair of individuals who have dictated whether any trend in life is noteworthy, or not worth persuing at all.

Their names? Brad and Angelina.

While the Journal wavers over whether individuals need to fill some need to carve out their online identity, Brad and Angelina, and their attorneys at bulldog firm Lavely & Singer, have already decided what fate their new babies Knox and Vivienne will have. These kids will be children of Web 2.0 — the Jolie-Pitts have already registered the domain names knoxleonjoliepitt.com and viviennemarchelinejoliepitt.com just hours after they were born.

Or, more likely, once Brad and Angelina made their babies' names public, their high-priced counsel took the necessary steps to prevent cyber squatters from registering the homepage for celebrity baby gift scams.
