Another Town Car Lifestyle-Type Ditches Cushy Media Gig

May we pause for a second to ponder what the hell is going on with media personalities who have the cushiest of gigs up and leaving? Sure, ex-CNN anchor Daryn Kagan didn't have much of a choice — the news network didn't renew her contract. But with Atoosa Rubenstein topping the list of high profile exits, we now turn our attention to CBS' Rene Syler, the Early Show host who's leaving just before Christmas to "pursue other media opportunities." Like a book. And if she's like any of the others, she'll probably start blogging right about now, too.

Oh please — can't you read between the lines here?! Syler was just classy enough to move aside so CBS could change its morning show program in the hopes of attracting more viewers (good luck — Syler won a major national award during her time on the show — none of the other anchors have done that during their tenure on the show!). The network is the one without the guts or grace to tell people it was their decision to let Syler go!
That show needs new blood anyway. Why not have it start with Rene? Everyone is replaceable.
I can't be bothered with anything these days. I guess it doesn't bother me. What can I say?
My life's been pretty dull lately, but I guess it doesn't bother me. I haven't been up to anything recently. Maybe tomorrow. I've pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning. I haven't gotten much done these days. Pretty much nothing seems worth thinking about.

My mind is like a fog, not that it matters. I just don't have much to say these days. That's how it is. I haven't been up to anything recently.
I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen. I just don't have much to say right now, but so it goes. I've basically been doing nothing to speak of, but shrug. Today was a loss. I don't care. That's how it is.
