I hate to point out the obvious. But sex sells, and it is possible to make almost anyone look devastatingly gorgeous with proper lighting and styling. Or at least presentable for the Yuppies who subscribe to New York! By the same token, it is possible for even the biggest stud puppy to take a bad photograph. But you do have a point.

There's a difference between watching Nadal play tennis and looking at a photo of him. His hotness is all in his game and in his passion for it. To paraphrase a spritely young folk singer, he has the kind of beauty that moves.
Although, as hot as Andy Roddick? Doubtable. Better player, though. And probably a better lay (though that's pure speculation).
