Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer paid for Ashley Dupre to give him a couple hummers and pretend it was love, but much like former president Bill Clinton, his professional indiscretion's only punishment is via humiliation.

It would have been glorious to see Spitzer get sentenced through his own extreme anti-prostitution legislation, but it was not to be. Though Spitzer was seen as a "co-conspirator" of the Emperor's Club where he took his pleasures, he will not be charged.

The club's owners, Brener and Cecil "Katie" Suwal, along with two prostitutes bookers, Tanya Hollander and Temeka Lewis, plead guilty and will be sentenced. Spitzer however, worked with the prosecutors and will walk a free man.

Just goes to show: Even when you're not above public recrimination, you are still above the law.
