Tina Fey, creator and star of NBC's new comedy, 30 Rock, has started herself up a blog. Rachel Sklar at HuffPo's Eat the Press, who is quarantined in her house with a case of chicken pox (send her love letters and get well emails!), brings our attention to her Fey's first entry. Read it, people. You never know. This could be a new revolution in television viewing.
Hi…
Hi, this is Tina Fey. I'm in New York at a little party we're having for our cast and crew. We're eating chicken wings and getting ready to watch the show and I hope you're doing the same. Especially the chicken wings part. You may know me from SNL or as the teacher in Mean Girls. And hopefully you'll recognize a lot of people on 30 Rock. Alec Baldwin, international movie star and genius. Tracy Morgan from SNL and The Longest Yard. Super-talented Jane Krakowski from Ally McBeal. Judah Friedlander; he's been in everything from American Splendor to Feast. The delightful Mr. Jack McBrayer from Talladega Nights. The awesome Rachel Dratch from SNL. I love everyone in this cast.
I'll be back after the show to answer your questions.
Feel free to chat amongst yourselves while you watch.
-Tina
Who knows? With new shows having such a tough time getting off the ground, maybe connecting viewers to the through blogging (not to mentions bloggers writing about her blogging and giving her more press) could help 30 Rock not get cancelled. Especially since Fey answered just about all her reader's questions.
She should totally let Alec Baldwin blog next week! Letting him have access to the Internet could be even crazier than when Keith Olbermann logs on.
