Rosie O'Donnell has never been known for her patience, grace under fire, or her slim physique inability to hold a grudge.
And now, only days after her hot-tempered performance on The View, ABC has announced that Rosie has made Elisabeth Hasselbeck cry for the very last time.
ABC president released the following statement, (via TMZ):
We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to 'The View' and wish her well."
Meanwhile, an apparently confused Rosie O'Donnell said, "I'm extremely grateful. It's been an amazing year and I love all three women."
Yes, what a long, strange trip this has been.

• September 5, 2006: Rosie's very first day on The View! Rumor has it she's forced to shun her frumpy lesbian wardrobe for a more chic, suburban mom look. With heels!

• December 8, 2006: Rosie denies rumors that she's quitting The View for Nip/Tuck spinoff; fails to address rumors that she's quitting The View because she really, really hates her co-hosts.
• December 22, 2006: Barbara Walters reminds all of us that she's a "personal friend" of Donald Trumps. Because apparently Trump and Rosie are having some minor friction!
• January 9, 2007: Rosie and Babs get in a crazy screaming match in the makeup room! But will they kiss and make up? [Spoiler: No.]
• January 19, 2007: Rosie refers to American Idol judges as "three millionaires…one probably intoxicated." And for once, we totally agree!
• March 15, 2007: Meanwhile, Star Jones is on Court TV. You know, because she's a lawyer!
• April 3, 2007: Rosie disses Bill O'Reilly the only way she knows how: free-verse poetry style!
• April 24, 2007: Rosie grosses out audience while hosting the super-boring Matrix awards. Either that or she just really, really pissed off Page Six's Richard Johnson.
• April 25, 2007: OMG, 'Rosie Is Leaving The View!' reports everyone except ABC. Oh wait, there it is.
• April 26, 2007: In light of Rosie's impending departure, we take a closer look at this morning gabfest we call The View.
• April 30, 2007: But what's in store for Rosie? Stealing Phil Donahue's thunder, perhaps?
• May 14, 2007: And who will replace her? Apparently, Nancy Grace won't.
• May 23, 2007: Rosie and Elisabeth have a crazy 10 minute mini-meltdown. Joy Behar tries to mediate, then remembers she's the one who'd not allowed to speak.
• May 25, 2007: And finally, Rosie O'Donnell's head writer is fired for drawing mustaches all over Elisabeth Hasselbeck's picture. Which apparently doesn't matter since Rosie shan't be returning.
Farewell, Rosie. And congratulations to Elisabeth Hasselbeck on having the "Best Day In Her Entire Life."

Thank god she is gone. She has gone so far over the edge with using the fact she is a lesbian the public is sick of it. Just state your views and shut up about what sex you perfer to sleep with. The public didn't mind hearing her views but frankly she just took over the show when they added her. She will NOT be missed!!!!
I think it's hilarious that ABC doesn't care that Elisabeth was completely humiliated for everyone to see. I bet she thinks that Rosie should've been fired. Instead, they're practically on their knees begging for her to stay for just a couple more weeks.
The view is nothing without Rosie. Since she join the show the rating went up, so good luck ABC when she leaves. I agree with Rosie 100% cause Elisabeth is a little brat from the country thats knows nothing about the real world. Well done Rosie!
I am so glad Rosie is leaving the view! I am so sick of her and all the liberals in this country! They have no solutions for the war or any other issues and just hate President Bush.They blame him for everthing wrong in the country and it is so ridiculous!!! They also believe that they are the only ones entitled to an opinion and can not even give reasons for the insane things they say!
Rosie's just a person who has lots of love for mankind. Cruel Elisabeth does not unfortunately consider the women who's husband dies or son's how about parents of an only son. My sister's only son has put in 3 yrs thus far has 3 more to go and i hate the fact that poor lil Elisabeth tosses out the word Terriorist so freely while she sits in her ivory tower using empty words as i support our troops. Well if this is true why just why is her husband Tim not fighting the war for this staunch believer of the war WHAT A HYPOCRITE SHE IS! I despise her so she is a worthless no good for nothing excuse of a human being. Check the bio's being put out by the troops themselves who are they fighting in Iraq insurgents not the terriorist. Where is Bin Laden by the way and his crew hiding and ploting yes so who are the troops fighting again. Yes they do need to come back home and leave them cuckoo's to fight their own battles.
