I’m not surprised by the announcement that Star would be leaving The View, I would too if I had to sit next to Rosie O and Ms. Walters. BW couldn’t care less about this show and only shows up where there’s “NEWS” to be made. She makes me sick. I read a report that quoted BW as saying that “Star made questionable decisions last year during her wedding” and that “the audience didn’t trust her.” Does anyone still trust BW or Rosie O? Um…just in case you don’t know…the answer is “NO.” And don’t even get me started about Meredith V going to the Today show. Won’t be watching NBC now either.

I think Star did the right thing, why should she have to sit there and wait until Barbara wanted to tell the world, and make it look like it was Star's decision. Shame on you Barbara. I will NEVER watch the show again, in fact I had already made my mind up when they announced that Rosie O would be joining the show. I think she is a piece of trash with a nasty mouth and an attitude that is beyond the word HATEFUL Why on earth would they add someone as disgusting as Rosie to the show. I'm amazed they removed Star, who is an intelligent woman with a law degree and who could comment on any subject brought to the table and hired someone as stupid as Rosie who thinks they know everything but really doesn't know anything. Her mouth just goes and goes without ever really saying anything worth listening to. I have talked to many of my friends and none of us will be watching The View anymore. Barbara you decision was a BIG mistake.

Star Jones, you are a strong and beautiful woman. I wish nothing but the very best for you and predict that you will one day host your own show. But the moment she changed her physical appearance (for health reasons), and got married to a very handsome man, she suddenly was no longer trustworthy to the audience. BULL…and shame on The View for making up such a lie! There is no unity among all women in America. It simply does not exist. Star, I'm proud of you!

I agree totally, Barbara has made a BIG, BIG mistake. No one in their right mind would want to watch Rosie O over Star Jones. Rosie is absolutely going to put this show in the dumpster just like she has everything else she has ever touched or been a part of . She has a loud mouth and doesn't know when to keep quitet. I will miss Star on the View everyday and time will tell if I continue to waste my time when Rosie O starts.

I don't understand all the venom-laced comments hurled at Star Jones. I am disappointed at how ABC handled the situation with Star Jones. ABC had their own agenda. Star chose to bow out - gracefully and respectfully. I think the parting is healthy for both.

What I admire about Star is that she exudes confidence and self-esteem and doesn't allow anyone to define her. So many people who are unhappy and insecure with themselves can castigate others. Wish you MUCH success, Star!!! You have my love and support.

I haven't watched the show in years and don't know anyone that watches it. But I would rather see Rosie there, than that stupid Star Jones. She is always whining about something. And everything has to be about her. She tries to put on a cutesie way of talking like she is 6 years old and it comes off as pathetic. I am just confused as why they air that show at all. Barbara is nothing more than a bragger and name dropper, and Joy is just low class—period. Don't know much about the young one because I quit watching before she came on. I think this change is due to the fact that Star has admitted she is a Christian. I don't think it was met favorably by any of those at the View and she got booted. I am glad she left, she doesn't need to focus on trashy things and can find a better job. I'm glad she didn't cave into Barbara' s demands and left on her timing. I won't be watching the View.

Technically,Star did what they asked. They said she could say whatever she wanted and they would back her up.Obviously that was not true, she left in a way where she had the power over her destiny and they did not like it. Barbara did not come off diplomatic or caring when she made her announcement because she was only trying to save face and embarass Star. When the Tyra show came on, I stopped watching the View, but when I did watch it,Star was the only reason why. It's a shame that when someone improves in their life,like losing weight or getting married that your supposed "friends" can't support you but instead try to find ways to put you down. I think Star did the right thing and I am looking foward to her future projects. SKEEE-WEEE SOROR!

I beleive Star Jones became totally self centered and corrupt.she used her position to get free gifts for her wedding guests and to hustle anything else she wanted, She was so full of her self that she couldn't admit to the women of america that she had stomach reduction surgery. Instead she lied and talked about her excercising routine. This only made oither overweight women feel bad about themselve. BW is the biggest hypocrite. I agree if Star were white it would have gone down differently. I don't know what her idea is of firing someone. Did Star quit? Did she get layed off because her company was downsizing? Did The View go off the air and everyone was out of a job? None of these things occured so I think it is and accurate assessment on Star's part to say she was fired.

So what if Star accepted free gifts for her wedding in return for adverstising. Helloooooooooo doesn't every celebrity in Hollywood do the same? Celebrities don't pay for their clothes or jewelry. They all get these fabulous goody bags worth thousands of dollars just for showing up. Star has said before she did not want to be the posterchild for gastric surgery. A lot of people are easily influenced by celebrities and would run out and do the same thing which may not be the best choice for that person. The surgery she had comes with very high risks. I think it is better she promote eating healthy and exercising. Also you do have to eat healthy and exercise afte r having this type of surgery. I'm sorry, but I don't think anybody who is not struggling with their own weight really cared if Star admitted to having the surgery. Sometimes people become jealous when they think other people are bettering themselves. And for all of you who criticized how Star handled things imagine if you go into work tomorrow and your boss says you will be let go in 2 months, but you can't announce it until 2 weeks before your last day, and you can say whatever you want except that you are being let go of by the company aka fired.

I think BW, Rosie, and those fans Star lost were happier when she was obese, unhealthy, and without a man. Star's personality has not changed that much from the weight loss. Star is not afraid to be herself. She always had diva-like ways. She was also very genuine and intelligent. Star was successful attorney before she ever came on this show, who could hold her own verbally with anyone including BW. I would trust Star and prefer to have her in my corner over BW anyday. If you don't stand for something in life you will fall for everything. Hats off to you Star for standing up for yourself.

Such a shame, I am really going to miss listening to Star constantly defending guilty pedifiles, and murderers, like Micheal Jackson, and OJ…ah well…maybe on her own show she can have them all on as guests, declaring there innocence, cause they are black. (but she isn't racist, right?)

This has nothing to do with Black or White. I am so glad Star is gone. I never enjoyed watching her. She always seemed to be looking down her nose at everybody when she was so tacky herself. Putting in plugs for Payless when they clearly told her not to, hawking her wedding, interrupting others and always trying to take the spotlight. Meredith is the one I will miss. Her style and class gave the show it's dignity. Sorry Barbara, age and experience do not necessarily translate into class. They had a good mix except for Star and I don't think the new mix is going to work. Barbara the Boss, Joy the Loudmouth, Rosie the Megaphone mouth and then there is Elizabeth. You know folks, just because a woman is pretty and nice doesn't make them a moron. How many of us could hold our own next to seasoned journalists, talk show hosts, lawyers? Run for it Elizabeth - some things are just not worth the heartache.

If Star Jones is what black women see as a strong, intelligent, beautiful black woman then it is no wonder they think this was a racist move by NBC or BW. I am a black man and I would be ashamed to think that Star Jones is representative of what Black America thinks is a role model. She did not come across strong - she came across self absorbed. Her taste in clothes and self presentation is not beautiful - it is ostentatious and self deluded. Showing off her flabby arms in sleeveless outfits? To say America cannot handle a strong, intelligent black woman is completely unsubstantiated. Oprah Winfrey is living proof of that. For those who compare Star Jones to Oprah: what are you thinking? There is just no comparision. Star is nowhere near Ms. Winfrey's league. Star has proven herself to have no class whatsoever and any black women who see her as a role model are selling themselves short.
