We've just received unconfirmed (when multiple sources say it's true, that's confirmation, right?) word that MTV execs have officially canned TRL, and fired approximately fifteen people responsible for its production.
Details to this still-developing story – first rumored about in Gatecrasher – are scarce, which means we can only speculate as to what this means for TRL's potty-mouthed veejay, Vanessa Minnillo.
We'll update you as soon as we hear official word on Vanessa's future life plans, and encourage you to write in with any new information, or cell phone pics of tearful adolescents ripping up their "WE LUV YOU VANNY!" signs in the middle of Times Square.

Um, Breaking News: TRL isn't canceled.
You obviously got this from one of the laid off parties… the show's not cancelled. In fact the ratings are up as is the Viacom stock. Get credible sources before posting.
TRL needs to be put out of it's misery. MTV is so bad about not cancelling shows that hit the pooper years ago.
I'd like to suggest putting on music videos in the open time slot. It will be a cool concept to try out in between Pimp My Ride, Bam, Super Sweet 16, The Hills, Bus Dating (eh?), Dancing for Life, Teens having Sex in Maui, Laguna Beach, Real World, Road Rules, Super Road Rules with the Allstars, The after show to talk about it all, etc.
I hear Vanessa will be going to Denver to become a CJ for ManiaTV! Can someone confirm???

i heard that trl is def dead. they are bringing in people to create a next-gen trl over the next few months. it will prob premiere in the summer.
