Brit Hume to Surrender His Fox News Soapbox

Brit Hume will step down from his Special Report evening newscaster role at Fox News after the November election, reports TV Decoder in this obiturary-esque report. He will, however, remain at the network in some capacity. Perhaps he'll use the opportunity to make the official transition from hard news anchor to opinionated pundit.

Maybe Brit Hume is angling for press secretary to McCain, if McCain wins, sort of a Tony Snow sort of move.
