We were waiting with both nostrils open for news on Kate Moss' Burberry contract and, after an extended post-lunch pre-dinner fete, we return with the bad news: Just like H&M did yesterday and Chanel sort of did today, Burberry is pulling out.

Burberry said it had been in talks with Moss' representatives and that they had "mutually agreed that it is inappropriate to go ahead" with the project this autumn.

"Kate has always been a fantastic model and highly professional for Burberry," the company said. "We are saddened by her current circumstances and hope she overcomes her problems as soon as possible. We wish Kate all the best."

It would help her to "overcome her problems," of course, if she had Burberry's money to pay for rehab. We're just saying.
